Hey all!! I got banded on Monday, the 19th, and came home late Tuesday afternoon. I haven't vomited at all, I think because I am so afraid to. I was doing great until last night when I was tired, and in slight discomfort, and really confused about some after care things. My Dr's office prescribed me Lortab pills, Actigall pills, and Pepcid. Plus they told me to start my Vitamins, which are chewable except for one, and to continue taking my Anafranil for anxiety. I feel so overdosed with meds that I am afraid to take them. I have been cutting everything into little pieces before I take it because I don't want anything to get stuck and irritate my band. But last night I drank too much Water with my pills I think, and it was the first time I have felt kinda sick. Today was the first time I tried Protein shakes cause I actually felt hungry, instead of just mentally hungry. I had my 3 oz that they told me to have, and after about 2 hours, I started to feel hungry again.

I think the just of my confusion is because of my pre-op delema.... in short, I had being seeing one dr for all of my pre-op, and the dr at that office that took my insurance left the practice, and my insurance would not continue to cover me there, so about 2 weeks pre-op I had to switch drs. So my surgery date got switched to a month later with my new dr at a different office. My new dr, Dr Kaul is great, but the two offices gave me different post op advise. For example, the first dr said that all meds should be liquid for awhile, where the second dr prescribed me all pills. And the first dr said that I should be on Clear Liquids for 5 days, where the second dr told me to drink Protein Shakes right away. I have been kind of combining their advise, and hoping to get the best results. We'll see what happens I guess. I just want to do whats right for me, and take full advantage of this great opportunity that I have been given.

Thanks for letting me ramble!! Good luck to everyone!!

Can anyone out there tell me what "PB" is? I keep seeing it but don't know what it means.

Thanks.

Glad you're doing so well. I feel really good too. I've been on clears and Protein Drinks and yogurt and pudding. I also tried liquified cream of broccoli Soup today and it was GREAT! My dietician said I could do clears and full liquids after the first few days. I'm doing ok with no problems - I just take it slow and small sips. I hope you continue to do well-isn't this great!

hI,

noticed that you just got banded. I am envious. My six months of counseling are up, I am just waiting for the insurance co. to approve me. Regarding your liquid diet, any good ideas to pass on? I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Hi-

The diet is really whatever your doc says. I started out with ice chips in the hospital the first night. I stayed pretty much with Water and my Protein drinks. Since I've been home, my liquids are my Protein Drinks, popsicles (no sugar), no sugar Jello, and broth. I'm just taking it slow and easy-no stuffing. You'll do fine-just listen to your doctor and dietician.

Good luck!

Hi- how are you feeling? I feel pretty good. I went out today for the first time with my husband and got pretty tired. I don't know if I'm weak or just tired from the surgery.

I haven't checked but do y'all know about the November 07 Bandsters board further down on the list of boards? You'll find lots of folks who were banded close to the same time you were who are going through the same experiences. Come join us!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
