I was an avid runner in my twenties. Now that I'm in my 50s and have a few old war wounds you can definitely call what I do slow jogging LOL

If you're running with a mid foot strike with 180 steps per minute at your "niko niko pace" chances are you're doing slow jogging.

Growing up everyone was a jogger. Then they became runners. I always thought jogging was nice and I could go longer. Anyway, I never thought I'd become a runner but jogger has always seemed like a nice idea. Maybe I'll give this a shot.

How is slow jogging for the knees? I happened upon the video in my Youtube recommendations. Looks interesting...Will it help you to transition to normal running/jogging?

If you believe Mr. Tanaka it's ok for the knees if you take it easy. Small steps, 180 steps per minute, landing on the mid foot, starting with low volume (e. g. you can use some kind of couch to 5k app).

You transition into running by doing 180 steps per minute or more and simply having a longer stride.

For maintaining 180 steps per minute one of the various free metronome apps is useful in the beginning and/or if you own one: a sports watch that is able to recognize your cadence.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
