Kaiser Norcal- South Sacramento

I have an appointment in the beginning of May and I’m hoping my doctor will give me a referral. I’m 5’8 and around 274 pounds. I was wondering can anyone tell me the process?

Did I need to have tried a medically supervised diet to qualify? Will my BMI alone be enough to make me eligible? I also have medi-cal.. do you know if they cover the costs? Anything I need to do to prepare for my appointment? I’m so sorry for all the questions! I’ve read some posts but still a little confused. I know that Kaiser NorCal and SoCal process is different and information is so hard to find. I don’t want to get my hopes up and not be eligible or get approved :(

Thank you for all your help!
