Angelstew he was happy with my weight loss so far and said the fatigue was common. My blood pressure is low also so that’s maybe why. He said I could start trying soft foods if I can tolerate it.

Angelstew I am 2 weeks post op and also tired all the time. It’s frustrating but I managed to go to The Rolling Stones tonight and walk the stadium. I have my check up with my surgeon tomorrow and I’m going to ask him about it.

Rachelj788, we're sleeve sisters! Exactly the same date. Are you on soft foods yet? I have one more week to go until I can add chicken and tuna and I can't WAIT!

Itching around incisions ?? Surgery 8 day PO normal?? How can is too the itching can it be infection?

mamasboys_vsg

I almost came on to ask the same thing a few days ago omg.

I started itching like a mofo on Day 5 and by Day 7 I was going crazy and finally paged the nurse (and doctor). Nurse responded first and said if it's not red streaks around the incision sites or swelling or any green/brown/yellow pus then it's just itching because it's healing. If there's none of that (there was none of that for me) then you're alright :).

I've been popping a Benadryl here and there and also lightly rubbing around the incision areas with Aquaphor for relief.

Cris20495 I tried puréed tuna salad and ricotta bake last week no issues. I had egg salad today and I was fine. I’m going to try more soft foods this week. The dr. told me I can try new things, as long as it doesn’t get stuck in my throat or make me sick.

Hello ladies and the one other guy, I don't think is even still with us....I haven't checked in in a bit. Just wanted to stop by and say all is well, feeling great.....or I was until today. I finally went and got a Black Card membership at PF and went today. Managed 3 miles on the treadmill, walking mostly but I was able to do a couple of intermittent jogs. Did some leg presses and then some ab killers....5 sets of 30 Russian Twists with a 10 lb medicine ball. My abs were on FIRE and I thought that would be the one I would regret but as it turns out, the leg presses were a bit too much, I can barely walk now and almost fell on my face a little while ago trying to go down the stairs. My legs are like Jello. LMAO As much as I am hurting, I still feel awesome that I went and was able to do as well as I did.

Other victories....Before surgery I was in a tight 46' jeans, I can now get into 40s but they're a bit tight so I'll stay in the loose 42s another week or so. Guy at the gym gave me a 3xl that I asked for but then he threw me a Large and said there's an extra one for you to set yourself a goal. Hell yeah!!

Started on soft foods yesterday. I can tell it's going to be hard to get in the Protein goals with just food so I guess i will keep some shakes handy. It wasn't so bad with the sleeve but with this revision, a spoonful of food fills me up. It's crazy. I make a bowl of scrambled eggs, mix in some Unjury unflavored Protein and just eat a bite every 10-15 minutes.

Hope everyone is doing well. Best Wishes.

Sounds like you have have it all under control...y'all keep posting about y'alls progress. I will need the inspiration after my surgery on the 22nd :)

Hi siblings. Had my two week post op today. Haven’t had any issues; no nausea, vomiting, etc. Lost 9 pounds since surgery and my surgeon said I’m right on track. Took my staples out (borderline painful) Moving on to purées (I had scrambled eggs and avocado earlier this week with no problem). Trying to focus on getting all my Protein and liquids in. Cleared for cardio, no lifting. Hope everyone is doing well!

Well I’m almost 2 weeks post-op. Down 14lbs. Did pretty well after the initial pain of having the doctor go tip-toe through my insides, instead of the tulips. I’m kinda glad it’s over now. Now i can focus on other things.

Hi there, I had my surgery June 3, 2019 I’m down 58 pounds. Best decision I’ve ever made. Yes I was sore but praise God I’ve healed and doing good. At first when I started losing weight I was so tired. But now I’m getting me my energy back 👏

I have my 6 week post op 7/18. It's been rough. I had several weeks of only losing 1 or 2 pounds a week. My medical team wants me losing 10-15 pounds a month. My official weigh in day is Monday but I stepped on the scale today and was down 3 pounds since Monday and 3 pounds a week is what my team says I should be losing so hopefully my plateau is over.

I could have moved to regular foods this week but I tried some regular grilled chicken on Monday and threw up so am staying on soft foods a little longer and going to try again Monday. Shredded chicken is fine just not cubes of grilled chicken.

I am down 22 pounds since my surgery on 6/3 and I lost 33 pounds in the 6 months pre op so 55 pounds down total. I've gone from size 26 jeans to 22s and 3x/4x tops to 2x/3x tops. I've yoyo dieted between a size 22 and a 26 many times over the years so have a lot of clothes. I kept losing the same 60 pounds over and over so this doesn't feel too big yet as I've dieted to this size before. I can't wait to get down to an 18-20 so I can buy new things.

Been quiet in here! I had to look for the thread. My big news is today I was just sitting waiting on my son at his speech appointment when I realized my legs were crossed. Now I can’t tell you the last time it happened but I can tell you it’s been a matter of years. Haven’t weighed this week yet. Will probably wait until Friday. Don’t need the scale. It’s definitely working.

6 weeks out and I think I'm pretty much back to normal. I've lost so much weight and feel great. I went back to my kung fu classes last night. It was great. Been hitting the weights and swimming as much as possible. I saw a few people saying they didn't have energy after a couple of weeks...don't worry, it will come back. It's completely normal. I have tons of energy as long as I keep up with everything and get all my Protein in. Hope everyone is doing good.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
