Had my one week post surgery follow up yesterday! 16 pounds down since 6/6🎉. Doc was pleased with my progress on fluids and Protein. So, I’m moving on to the purées diet. So, excited to eat real food. I never knew scrambled eggs and mashed bananas could be so good 😂😂😂

I'm now 2 weeks post op and just hit 15 pounds down today. Jealous of people I see losing huge amounts right after surgery. I've seen people losing 20-30 pounds in the first 2 weeks.

Officially on purees now but can't eat much. About half a scrambled egg or 1/8 cup cottage cheese or 1/4 C cream of chicken. Restriction is definitely real.

Campbell’s Tomato Soup made with fairlife instead of Water is keeping me sane right now. I tried mixing Protein into chicken broth I couldn’t eat it- I haven’t messed with adding it to the Tomato bc I can get in 3 premier 30g shakes throughout the day- so just eating my Soup and lunch and dinner to feel “normal” Friday I start purées and I’m so excited - what to try first?!?! (I don’t like eggs or bananas)

Had gastric bypass June 3,2019
I have lost 21.7 pounds but now struggling with the soft food stage.
Cut yourself some slack, you just had major surgery! [emoji6] (pot meet kettle here -- my doctor just told me to slow my roll!) Go as slow as you need.

Had surgery yesterday and it went great. I haven’t had really any pain nor gas issues but had two times when the nausea was awful. Last night they gave me a couple of medications for it because zofran didn’t work on its own. Thankfully I didn’t throw up. Been waking the halls a lot. Today I got a Protein Shake and it literally took me all day to sip. Lol. I’ve also had ice Water, a couple of bites of yogurt and a few sips of Tomato Soup. Overall feeling good. Only time I feel icky is when I take too many sips...I get a heavy feeling like I have to burp. Going on my walks I saw someone else with a Protein shake... I want to say hi but don’t want to invade anyone’s privacy. Lol I should be released tomorrow...my Dr is on the conservative side and likes to keep people 2 nights.

Good luck to everyone going tomorrow!

Hi Everyone,

my name is Rachel. I am 30 and 5’9 and having the sleeve on June 25th, insurance just approved it today-one week out! I would love to hear people’s experiences that have had surgery this month! When I started my journey I was 290, now I am 267 while on the pre op liquid diet. Everyone says this diet isn’t bad after a few days but I can’t stand it, I have never cheated on this diet even though I hate it lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
