I totally get that. In my opinion, having a medical team you are comfortable with and trust is the biggest part of this process. I live about an hour and 15 minutes from my surgeons office.

Are you going up the night before and staying in the Inn? Leslie set me up for that...i'm about 2 hrs from the hospital.

Hello June Siblings! My RNY was yesterday. I didn’t know quite what to expect as my last surgery was 35 yrs ago. Very pleasantly surprised. The Bariatric unit staff were great no matter their role on this team.
Got home this evening around 6PM. now having my last full liquid for the day. I was given a Scopolamine patch in Pre-Op yesterday AM. Will take it off tomorrow. So far no nausea. Have been walking as prescribed. Will be glad when all the gas is gone. 🤣🤣
Same! My tummy rumbles soooooo loud at times lol

Hi Everyone!
Well, it has been about 48 hours since I came out of my RNY surgery. I am feeling really pretty good! I haven't taken anything for pain and I am able to get Water down pretty easy. I have done some walks and I seem to sleep comfortably when I need to. So far. I feel super lucky as far as recovery goes, I expected it to be much worse.
To my fellow June surgery friends- I am sending you all good thoughts in hopes that each of you do well and continue to get better every day. [emoji170]
Yay I'm so happy for you!

It seems I may have reflux as a result of surgery. I can barely drink, my chest hurts and I am constantly nauseous. The bariatric clinic is sending some new prescriptions over to treat it. :(

Guess What???!!!!!

I am back........

Surgery went well on Monday. I was discharged, yesterday.

I was so glad to get home and finally get some REST. I don’t how anyone is suppose to get any rest in the hospital is was SO NOISY.

Well for starters, on Monday, I came down with the worst case of Constipation, I had ever suffered. 😕 So, I called myself smart and ran out and purchased some suppositories the morning of the surgery. I thought I could just plop one in and I would be relieved before surgery. NOT!!!!😨

Then the hospital called me and wanted to know if I could come in early!! OH NO!!! I will stay clear for nasty details but 2 days later, I was finally relieved of the problem. I can’t tell you how great that felt.😃

Anyways, I am doing good. Just resting and trying to increase my Water intake. This clear liquid diet is a BEAST!!! I won’t lie to anyone……. I am so looking forward to an egg, fish or even chicken, I won’t complain. Once, I pass my 30 day mark, I should be able to eat some real food. But until then, the liquids have it. Thank God for Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu…..Between naps that is what is keeping me entertained. So the Purpledva is doing alright. I have my follow up visit on Thursday, the 13th. Btw, surgery weight was 217 which was a 2 pound variance from my home scale but I will take. And Post surgery weight was 222. Well of course, the doctor said,”We’ve just pumped you up full of gas and liquids…That’s expected”😂😂

Purpledva signing out.

You’ve got this Funky JuneBunch

I didnt even think to bring it up. I live on the outskirts of town and from my house to the hospital ends up being about an hour and 13 minute drive. Are you getting super excited?! Not much longer.

I am miserable right now. I have anti nausea meds and pain meds . I am struggling to keep Water down without vomiting but sugar free popsicles seem to do a little better.

So it sounds like I'm up next. I report tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. with show time at 8:30. I think I'm ready. Just bustling around the house, trying to get things in order. My daughter is sleeping over with the grandparents so she can sleep in. I started this journey in December and it felt so far away. The last two weeks sped by. I'm ready for this next chapter with my fabulous new sleeve. Wish me luck!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
