So, I was told by both my endocrinologist & my surgeon Dr to stop my diabetes meds. I was on metformin 2x 1000mg, glimeperide 2x 4mg and 72 units of lantus at night. I'm 16 days out and my bs is over 200 fasting and after meals. I've gone back to taking metformin & glimeperide till I hear from my Dr.

I am eating real food now, but it was high even on just liquids. I'm eating about 1/2 cup of food x4 a day.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you!

As you lose weight, you probably will be able to get off meds. My sugar also ran high. I did take liquid Tylenol and that had sugar. Also my chewable Vitamin had fructose and that seemed to raise my blood sugar. Give it a bit,bet it will come down.

I've been doing Beans and chili mostly. I'm only 16 days out.

Is this what your plan allows this early out? Are you a revision or new surgery?

Also, my blood sugars have been over 200 during the week of Clear Liquids only. I drank Water for one week. I'm not drinking Protein. I can't stand any flavors or artificial sweeteners. I'm ok'd to do the fairlife milk and yq as a protein replacement. I got the bars because I'm still not getting enough protein. I did chew it very slowly and ate slow. Pure Protein Bars.

If the yogurt, banana and protein bars are all apart of your plan at your current stage then you should be fine. Run the types past your NUT if you arent certain

Definitely watch out for hidden sugars, high sugar contents , sugars by other names and sauces. Those things add up fairly quickly.

Good luck and hopefully things will turn around soon.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
