June 2019 sleevers

Recommended Posts

So, I just but the bullet, (like 8 minutes ago!) and sent the deposit for my surgery. I’ll be heading off on the 16th for surgery on the 18th :) I’ve got a couple of trips away between now and then that my husband has been looking forward to for months and I didn’t want him to miss out otherwise I’d have booked for an earlier date, but hopefully those trips will make the time speed up a bit. Bring it on :)

Just thought I'd bump this, I can't be the only one?? I'm struggling more than ever with watching what I eat right now. I really need to start getting in the habit of recording what I eat . I'm having my surgery abroad so I'm going to take it upon myself so seek some therapeutic help to deal with my food addiction issues...If that's what I have. All I know is, I've lost and gained the same 6 stone for 18years and I need to break the cycle!

My surgery is scheduled for June 20th. Could’ve done it May 9th, but I’m waiting on my son to finish the school year so we can spend some time together during my recovery. I only get 1 week vacation a year. Boo. Going to take 2 extra days anyways, and hope I feel ok to go back to work.

i use an app called myfitnesspal to track my meals/ calories and its been working great for me it has reminders to log your meals and it also adjust your calories when you input your exercises you can even keep track of how much Water you drink a day. there is also a featur that tells your how much you will weigh if you eat the same calories for 5 weeks . im doing really well better than i thought ! im my appointment for my last clearance is tomorrow i hope ill be joining the June Sleevers club ! good luck!

p.s the app mapmywalk by the same maker tracks your walks and tell you the distance you went and how many calories you burned. it only tracks walking though.

I could've done it this month but I had a trip to Rome last weekend as a final foodie hoorah and My husband is really looking forward to a weekend away at the beginning of June so I'm going the following week :)

I have a fitbit tracker and I do have my fitness pal app, it's remembering and motivating myself to use it!

I don’t have a date yet, but the only thing I have left to do is my scope and a final meeting with the surgeon to begin my two week pre-op diet. Scope is on the 30th this month, then middle of May I’ll be out of town for a week. My scheduler was certain that I could have a June surgery. Cheers to all!

My surgery is scheduled for the 28th. I’m still trying to get all my stuff together for post surgery. I don’t even know where to begin!

Mine is the 18th, I’m going privately to turkey. I’ve been told to lower my carbs the week before but as far as prep goes, that’s it. There’s not a lot else they do. They do all pre-op tests, scans etc there, the day before (they have a lab on sight so can get results pretty much immediately) i’m going to go meet my GP before I go to let them know I’m doing the surgery, if anything, it can’t hurt to have it on record and I was considering asking about being referred for some kind of food therapy. Bad relationships with food, control and compulsive eating got me where I am and i’d Feel better knowing I’m working on those things too

Try Myfitness Pal, it is free and can be done on the phone. Will count calories and Protein. I also have a Fitbit that pairs with this program.

Those that have June dates, I will keep you in my thoughts and wish you a safe journey. I still have two more appointments before I get a date. I guess I have an entire summer to try to lose some weight. I have a few favorite summer dishes so I'll try to keep on the downward trail. Keep us updated!

Hi! My journey so far has been quite quick. I saw the surgeon for the first time late in April, have a gastroscopy in a couple of weeks and I've been scheduled for the sleeve on the 14th of June. I have hypothyroidism and osteoarthritis. I'm a little nervous but also very much looking forward to the new start. Good luck to all the others who are also scheduled for June!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
