9. One piece of advice I'd give to myself a year ago today: concentrate on Protein and produce, you can give up the sugary stuff! It's doable!

From your lips to Gods ears. I have a terrible sweet tooth that didn’t go away. Lately I’ve indulged too much in sweets.

So what is everyone snacking on instead of junk?

Today I had sliced apples dipped in PB2 powder. 😋😋😋

Do you add something to the powder so it’s not “powder” you’re dipping in to?

I don’t but I hear you can. I just dip it right in the powder and the moisture from the apple makes just the right amount stick.

14) Cooking. I love it! I still cook for my whole family and I’m not having a difficult time fixing things that meets all of our needs. I’m just not baking like I used to. I can pass store bought Cookies, etc but home made is a WHOLE other battle I’m not willing to face quite yet, if ever

I just read this article and also posted it in our 50+ thread but posting here as well since our challenge involves snacking. It has some of the most forthright, common sense approach I’ve ever read about late night snacking.

Beats my evil death stare by 1000 %

Baaahaha haha but an evil death stare is very useful to have in your arsenal as well. Like, when a dude tries to cut in line in front of you at border control at the airport. Dude had a serious rethink coming.

13. One skill or hobby you want to take up. I have three and I can't choose between them. When I get down a bit more, Imma reactivate my scuba license; take up horseriding with my daughter and start doing zumba/aerobics

One thing other peeps tell me I'm good at: fixing other people's computer /Internet issues (it helps that a lifetime ago I worked at an ISP on the helpdesk [emoji16])

Tell me about it. chocolate is my kryptonite. Luckily (or unluckily) these days it makes me dump if I have more than a little bit and the sugar free stuff makes me spend the night on the porcelain throne. I paid good money for precisely that!

14. I'm told I'm good at listening.

And on that coderedlifestyle article. Nice information but I don't even get home until about 6:30. Not a doable thing for me.

B-Sides questions:

What are you still having a hard time with post surgery that you believed would go away?

I chuckled a bit at 6:30 being “late night “ as well. I just thought it hammered home some great insights I needed to hear . When something gets too science based in its explanation a part of me switches off.

DAY 14: One thing people tell me I'm good at: Remaining calm under pressure. Fake it till you make it! Right!

B-side question: What are you having a hard time with post surgery? Looking ahead 3-5 years from now. Will I still be in this happy "honeymoon" phase. Can I stay vigilant and keep the weight off? The closer I get to goal the more I'm starting to stress.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
