I believe all psych Evals are different depending on the place you go. At mine they had me doing random stuff like repeating a set of numbers, remembering 4 object till I was asked what they were in order, addition like 2+2 up to 198+198, a depression test, talked about why I chose the surgery I did, talked about what I’ve learned about the surgery. They just to make sure that I’m aware of all things about the surgery. And finally a 200 question bariatric test where at least my psychiatrist sent to Indianapolis to receive the results. All this took 2hrs so prepare to stay that long at most.

Hope this helps

Mine was super brief. I think it was to make sure I didn't have an eating disorder. I see a psychiatrist so as long as I planned to keep seeing him, they were fine with that. They also warned me that some people get depressed post-surgery.

Test to see if you are under a lot of stress, if you have good family support, realistic about outcomes, motivated etc.

I told them what they needed to hear so I could move forward. I've heard of people on here that come back after pouring their souls out to the social worker and getting denied surgery. Just something to think about.

That is (pun intended) insane! I can't believe they made you do all that - though obviously you had a good outcome.

Mine was 10 minutes, and about 5 generic questions checked off a list.

That was exactly 4 weeks ago and I’m waiting to know if he’s sent the report to my surgeon (last Friday I had my last appointment to submit to insurance and they hadn’t received my psych eval. Yes it is insane.

I would call your surgeon and ask for help. I'm sure they want to get the show on the road, so to speak.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
