After surgery, ever eat food you shouldn’t?

Recommended Posts

Yes, all the time; unfortunately I have learned that I can, once again, eat an entire pint of ice cream in one sitting with no ill effects. However, most of the time, even if I do eat poorly, it's far less than I could eat before - I had to laugh at myself the other weekend when I ate a single cheeseburger and 5-6 French fries from Culver's and afterwards went "ugh, I feel like such a pig now!"

There's a guy in my support group who is a little over 8 years out, he had the sleeve. He said one night "Years after surgery we will eat foods we were told not to, but I don't do it every day. I have pizza once in a while. Now a eat once slice, before surgery I ate a large pie to myself. Now I order medium and it'll feed me a few days". It make sense and he's right there are days we will eat and it's okay. This guy is 8 years out and has had 20lbs max regain, currently 8lbs higher than his lowest weight. He says if the lbs start to creep up he goes back to the introducing hard foods stage and food logs again.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
