Liquid: Protein Powder, SF pudding packets (to flavor Protein shakes), Crystal Light, Powerade Zero, Jello, popsicles

Soft: refried Beans, canned chicken (used as chicken salad or with hot sauce or SF barbecue sauce), Soups, string cheese, apple sauce, thinly sliced deli meat, sliced cheese, flaky fish, eggs

Most plans include a pureed stage—mine doesn't. I went from liquids to soft foods.

sugar free Jello phone pudding and Protein powder held me through like ramen noodle did in college.

Liquid: Premier Protein, Unjury powders, Syntrax Nectar powders (I like variety - and Syntrax has some that are more fruity than chocolate, like lemonade and fuzzy navel - they have a trial pack you can buy). Milk (fairlife - more protein), greek yogurt (oikos triple 0 - would think out with milk. Note that some people aren't allowed yogurt on liquid phase)

pureed foods: I made a bunch of this stuff before and froze it: Tomato Soup, black Beans (I just cooked, added some broth, and pureed), pureed sweet potatoes, pureed spinach. cottage cheese, yogurt, hummus, eggs (note, some folks dont do well with eggs at this stage), stuff to make eggface's ricotta bake (google it - ricotta, parm, mozzarella, Pasta Sauce, egg. I liked to add in some pureed spinach for flavor)

Soft foods: tilapia, egg salad, zucchini, green beans, tuna (I tried tuna and it did not work for me, but it does for some.

Good luck!

I was on liquid for 2 weeks after surgery - in addition to the Premier Protein shakes, I did Low fat Cream of Mushroom Soup (strained) and sugar free Jello and pudding and low fat Greek yogurt! I have moved on to pureed now and have been doing a lot of pureed soup, mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs.

Just bought a real good quality blender so when I do have to live off liquids or mush I can make Soups and shakes out of all good fruit and vegetables plus Protein powder easily mixed in

Liquid: Bodytech Protein Paleo Pro Protein (I used samples and single packs before surgery to see what flavors and brands I liked best). Now that I'm back at work I also use GNC Lean and Prue Protein because they are easy to grab and go with. Also herbal tea, skim milk, sugar free Jello, and broth.

Soft food diet: Refried Black Beans, Part Skim Riccota, Low Fat Cottage cheese, chicken which I puree with Greek Yogurt and Miracle Whip light for chicken salad, frozen broccoli and cauliflower (I puree it with some cottage cheese)

Also I drink a lot of Propel Water.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
