Tempted to cheat during liquid diet?

Recommended Posts

I’m on my second day of my 2week liquid diet before my surgery on the 23rd. Man, I’m struggling, but I haven’t cheated at all. When my husband was cooking supper, I thought I was going to lose it. I held my composure. Any one else cheat or wanted to?

Can you go for a walk while he is cooking and eating? Or maybe go to the gym? Or go to another room/floor to watch the news?
Something so you don't have to smell it. LOL

Yeah! And if you can't walk (weather, etc.) go for a drive and crank the tunes while he's cooking. I think the smell of food would be harder to get through vs. just seeing it. Good luck, you can do this!

Thank all of you who replied! I know I’ll make it, I just had to rant. Hearing from people who are in the same shoes helps tremendously!

Vent away!!!!

I am kind of lucky. My hubby goes out on the road a few days after my surgery, so it will be just me and my son. My neighbor already offered to have him over for dinner that next week that I will be on liquids so I don't have to cook food. LOL

Funny story..... I was on my last 3 days of my two week all liquid before the V Sleeve. Hurricane on the way so the plan was to stock up on the food for everyone if we loose power for a few days. So bacon is on the list. I just lost it. The smell just so good and I could not cheat with only 3 days left till surgery. SO I LICKED IT!!!!! LMAO I didn't eat it, RIGHT!! But it help kill the craving for eating it. We all find ways to get the craving under control.

I love that story!! In the midst of a hurricane, bacon was way more important! 😂

In case any of you are still on your liquid phase, my nutritionist told me to heat up my pre-mixed chocolate Protein Drink like a hot chocolate. I did it yesterday at work, and it was amazing! Actually a lot better than regular hot chocolate. Also, with it being cold outside, the heated up Protein was very calming and soothing. I just took my time and sipped it while I worked. I'm a high school librarian, and my students were cracking up at me for making such a big deal out of heated up chocolate protein. Lol Whatever gets me through, right?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
