Thanks so much! I will check them out - it's nice to have recommendations.

One thing I really miss are crackers. I'm on the hunt.

Anyone still having problems drinking Water? I have had this problem since day one. I can drink tea, wine, (well that’s mostly what I drink is tea and wine). But water... is rough

No, but I think sleeve is worse than RNY.

If you are looking for a meat snack, you can get really good cheese sticks wrapped in proscuitto at various places. I buy them in a pack at Target in their cold section by the cheese. I also buy small packs of avocado toast packets there and bring them to work. I read the reviews on some of the Protein Snacks on Amazon....do you have a favorite flavor? A wonder if they have a blech aftertaste or taste like Styrofoam?

I'm also looking for a low-carb cracker to each pimento cheese dip with. The tortillas (Tostido lime) are a terrible option as they are high in carbs.

One low carb option to chips is Pork rinds.
I love dipping pork rinds in hummus for a tasty and crunchy snack

I'm vegetarian, so unfortunately that's no good for me. I just had a bowl of salad to help fill me up before bed. From about 7-9pm I get so snacky!

No, but then again I’ve pretty much been able to drink Water since week 1.

I’m to the point now where I can chug up to 8 ounces at once, but my sleeve still fills fast with food.
I drink coffee with milk almost every morning and I drink milk and water.
That’s almost exclusively what I have unless I add some Gatorade zero to my waters when I start to get muscle cramps.

Down a pound this morning. I logged everything I ate yesterday and it was around 850. It's great to see the scale moving in the right direction! Evenings though are TOUGH with my hunger. Does anyone have any good ideas for non meat Snacks I can have? (Not keen on cottage cheese or any kind of Gelatin products).

I've tried the nacho cheese Quest chips and the were pretty good. I got them at GNC. Good luck! It's getting trying to lose weight at this point.

My weight loss has stopped. It’s over. I’m going to have to start working out. What a tragedy.

I will have to try this because I can eat the hell out of some pork rinds. And I love beef Jerky too. Those are some of my go to’s. Never thought of doing the Hummus pork rind combo. Interesting!

I don’t know what it is but the second I drink water it feels like so harsh. It’s difficult to drink it it’s sort of hurts my stomach. Very strange. If I mix in Crystal lite it’s Better. I don’t know why I know other people have this problem too but I wouldn’t think for six months.

Your drink choices are so much better than mine! Milk, water, Gatorade. I am drinking unsweet tea and wine five nights a week

That’s me too. I am a night eater. I have a hard time drinking and eating first thing in the morning usually. However this morning I ate three ears of corn! I probably could’ve eaten 4. They were small cobbs but still....

I never eat sweets but I can’t stop with these Cookies. It’s like my appetite has come back in full force and beyond. The good thing is the restriction is still there. If I eat meals I can’t eat very much but the snacking... oh the snacking!

I hope y’all are enjoying my play-by-play on what I’m eating, thinking and feeling today. So now besides the coffee and Creamer, one Italian wedding cookie, and one and a half ears of corn, I am eating leftover steak. Maybe this will finally fill me up!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
