Finally in a room. Surgery went well. I passed my drinking test so I can advance to Clear Liquids. They won’t let me have broth for some reason, just Jello. I hate Jello.

Congratulations! You made it! What was the drinking test like? You have to swallow barium, right? It's encouraging that you able to send a note to us so soon after surgery. How badly doest your stomach hurt? Is it hard to get the Jello down? Sorry, so many questions.

Good luck, Big Bari! I'm on day three. NOT easy, for sure, as you try to come up with a variety of things to take but the variety doesn't last long. I am up to 4 to 6 Protein Shakes a day and strained Progresso Soup. They are my go-tos. I was also told I should have at least 700 calories a day---but not sure how to find them as the liquid options are not rich in calories. Please share your ideas!

I’ll tell you if I can come up with anything gonna try and work on it tonight

Congratulations, Idawn! Glad to hear things are going well. You are the February pioneer, but we will start to join you one by one!

LOL! I'm going to have the exact same thing for my "last supper!" Good luck on the liquids!

So, it turns out the nurse wanted me to go to the ER last night for fear of dehydration. Not fun, but I did get fluids and something to stop the nausea and vomiting. The ER doc said it was the flu going around, but I just don't know. I took today off work and am so exhausted. It feels so weird to not want to eat but to be very hungry. The Headache is not as bad, but stlll very much there. Has anyone else had severe nausea and a splitting headache early into the liquid diet?

Gottajustdoit, have you taken any pain relievers for the headaches? I know that the options are very limited after surgery, but you should be able to take them now. Aleve works best for me.

Thanks R. For some reason the pain relievers are agitating my stomach. I'm a regular Advil taker for my joint pain, so I took that. I may try Tylenol tomorrow to see if that helps and doesn't bother my stomach. With only liquids, Advil seems to make me nauseous. 😥

I didn’t have to have anything as major as a barium swallow. All I had to do was drink 1oz of Water every 20 min x 5. If no nausea or pain I could advance. My stomach doesn’t hurt at all. Little pain in my shoulders from the gas but only ranks a 3 on 1-10 scale. I ordered jello but it hasn’t arrived yet.

Oh, I was premedicated for pain. I got neurontin and Celebrex before the surgery. I’m due for neurontin and Tylenol at 8.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
