Yes, that's it just yesterday.

I was so nervous and nearly backed out... but i was in at 11 am and home in bed by 1:30.

So far so good. I did research for nearly 2 years, and utiilized this forum many many times. You have no idea how supportive you have been just reading all your posts.

Needless to say I did not chicken out and was up and helping my youngest son with his homework in a matter of hours.

A little sore, a little weak, but all and all so far so good. Far better than i expected.

Wow! Congrats on doing so well and for a successful surgery. I can't believe you were home so quickly and helping your son with homework. My surgery wasn't until 6pm so they kept me overnight which I'm thankful for. My morphine PCA pump was my best friend that night!

Just remember to rest and to not over-do it. It's been a week for me and I'm still trying to get my strength back.

Yes, today i feel weak and tired, but I hope we can keep eachother up to date being banded so close together.

I did take a week off work, I know many people don't but i had the time, and i wanted to make sure i could heal and rest accordingly.

Are you eating yet? Your yummy liquids? i tried to drink one of my Protein shakes and could not get through a quarter of it.

I do already feel better having that in me though.

Im very interested in your progress!!!! Thanks for the support!!!

Well today is even better. I think I started to get a little hungry or it could be just gas. I decided to mix up a Protein shake and I could only drink about 2 ounces of that before I felt like i had a whole Thanksgiving meal.

My husband went out and bought the magic bullet for me and if you dont have one, it's one of the best things yet.

During my preop diet i struggled with the blender trying to get the protien shakes actually blended and then the clean up and so on. This thing is great. It makes a perfect shake in seconds and I think i'll really use it when i move on to thicker foods.

Minimal pain. I found it real relaxing to sit in my bath tub with hardly any Water, so i did nto soak my tummy :(

I'm still pretty swollen but not too bad, the heating pad really helped and the gas-x strips are a life saver.

I would do this again in a heartbeat. I can't believe i nearly chickened out. I can already tell this is the tool that is going to help.

I'll post more later and keep everyone posted.

Hello all. I am new to this site, so I hope I am doing this right. I am getting "banded" next Tuesday, November 20th. I am a nervous wreck!!! I know I have made the right decision, but that doesnt make it any less scary. Anyone getting this done next week? Any words of wisdom?

Hi urnoturcar

You said "I could only drink about 2 ounces of that before I felt like i had a whole Thanksgiving meal"

That is so great to hear; an encouragement to say the least. I am still waiting to be banded and love getting a picture of how the band will help me in the future

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
