They say no smoking but you can probably switch to another method. Just watch the sugar.

Yeah- I’d watch the coughing for a week or two immediately post-op. Also, be mindful of the munchies that typically accompany smoking pot.

Obviously I’d recommend enjoying it some way other than smoking it.. because smoking is not healthy. Maybe an edible or a tincture?

There’s no surgical related reason why can’t still do it... just be mindful of the side effects like coughing and munchies.

I know they always say sm9king delays healing, never heard marijuana would be exempt from that.🚬

I am Dutch, so yes it was a topic of discussion in our meetings. The answer I have gotten, was that smoking tobacco is not allowed. But smoking marijuana is, if you can smoke it without the tobacco. There are special Water pipes you can use it with or you can digest it in cake or in chocolate (sugar free of course)

MJ shouldn't be an issue; however, like others have said:
1) depending on how far out you are from surgery, watch out for coughing
2) be aware of if you are prone to food cravings
3) possibly opt for oil, sublingual tincture, or canna coffee
4) there are also creams and lotions if you want to try topical.
5) check out if transdermal Patches are available where you are

I'm a daily user of CBD oil vaped or sublingual for RA and fibro, and I've had good luck with a couple brands. MJ isn't accepted in my state yet so 🤷‍♀️

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
