Migraines after surgery? First aura

Recommended Posts

Did anyone have Migraines before surgery that got worse after?

I think I experienced my first aura tonight.

I am 3 week's post op.

I had a rainbow sort of zig zag ring that was impairing my vision.

It lasted about 30 mins but went away. However it scared the crap out of me.

Has anyone experienced this?

I have those a lot. Sometimes a headache follows... sometimes it is just an aura. Lasts 30 minutes as well. I’m checking in with my neurologist next week to see what is going on!

I’ve had Migraine since I was 14. Had surgery 12/10/19 down 34 lbs and my migraine are horrible! I have had one for every day for almost a month! I am currently waiting for insurance approval to try Botox!! My family all seems to think it’s bc I’m not eating enough and there are days I feel feel pressure to eat more! I think I’m eating too much I feel like I should have lost more by now! I struggle to get in exercise because of the migraines! Hopefully I get approved to try Botox
My current migraine meds are not working!

Are you eating more artificial sweeteners? I've found those give me terrible Migraines. I've also switched from Depakote to Aimovig (a once a month shot) as a preventative - it has really helped. Which is good because I'm not allowed to have any of my rescue medications at the moment because they all have stuff I can't have.

Also make sure you're getting enough Water and not getting dehydrated.

I was drinking crystal light mixes daily and just recently stopped because the doctor said that could be a trigger. I only have 1 kidney so I am very limited on the medication I can take that is why we are opting for Botox.

Knock on wood, I had surgery 121118 and have had no Migraines since. They started as a teenager, mostly menstrual, less since menopause but I have a lot of food triggers too and I'm not eating most of those foods.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
