Stuid Human Stuff

I thought this would be a fun thread to share stupid things we've done. I'll start by telling you that I have an unusal amount of stories that involve laundry and laundramats (thank God I finally own my own washer and dryer.)

Many moons ago, I loaded the public washers at my apartment with everything me and my boyfriend owned. I went back 30 minutes later and put Bounce sheets and quarters in the dryers, then left during the dry cycle. A half hour later I went back to add more quarters cuz I really jammed those machines full. When I went back to fold, all our clothes were gone, every last stitch. My violent-natured boyfriend was going to hammer down every door in the building looking - the whole apartment complex got involved to find the Clothing Bandit. That's when somebody opened up the washing machines and found all our clothes. Somehow I managed to get the Bounce sheets and quarters in the dryers but I forgot to add the clothes. DOH!

Next.

Man, I hate laundramats!

I too have done the "roll the bangs in a brush and leave till dry" trick.... I got my hand stuck in my own hair once. A couple of my rings got tangled...

Let's see... In high school, for Halloween one year, I wanted to have glitter on my eye-lashes. Yup, I glued my eyes shut. Good thing Elmer's glue is non-toxic...

Glued your eyes shut? At least they were sparkly. I've glued my fingers together with Krazy Glue, but never my eyes - gotta laugh!

This happened YEARS ago...

My cousin and I went into a bank to withdraw my last $20 so she and I could go eat lunch. We were young (immature) and giggling the entire time - causing a lot of attention to ourselves.

When we were leaving, I realized that I had left my keys in the car ignition, and of coarse, the car was locked.

So, back into the bank we went.

By this time, the security guard was completely annoyed with us, so he refused to let me use the phone (this was back in the days of no cell phones).

Now this is noon time, and the closest pay phone was about 3 blocks down the MAIN drag!

So here we go, WALKING down this major busy street, still a giggling!

Get to the pay phone, call Mike at work. (good ole' Mike to the rescue!)

He calls the "pop-a-lock" people then he comes and picks us up and brings us back to my car.

Pop-a-lock man comes, unlocks the car, and guess what his fee is..... yep, $20!!!!

But the BEST part of this story is - upon giving the pop-a-lock man my last 20 bucks, I found a SPARE KEY to my car in the bottom of my purse!

:(

There is a dumb ass and her name is Paula!

I was traveling for work, and staying in a hotel. Getting ready in the morning, I got out of the shower and was blow-drying my hair, upside down like I always do cuz I have long hair. What I didn't notice was that the little screen for the air intake on the dryer was gone.

Yep- you guessed it, the blow dryer sucked up a bunch of my hair and it got totally snarled and tangled in there. Of course, this is one of those blow dryers that they have permanently mounted to the wall, so I can't just un-plug the darn thing.

So there I am, in nothing but a towel, with most of my hair stuck in a blow dryer, affixed to the wall. I have a pair of scissors, but they are in my suitcase, which is on the bed in the other room. There is no phone in the bathroom. I figured I could just wait for the housekeeping people to show up and come to my rescue, but I just couldn't bear the humiliation.

So I sat there and ripped my hair out of the blow dryer, bit by bit. Needless to say , I looked like hell when I got to the office I was visiting.

When I got back home, I made an emergency appointment with my hair stylist. After she was able to quit laughing at my story, she did the best she could with the mess I had made of my hair.

It took almost a year before all the signs of that mishap finally faded.

Well I'm not so sure how to explain this one but I will try.... I had just gotten my new car and I wasn't very familar with all the buttons, locks etc.. any way I'm driving down the road eating a banana in my right hand and driving with my left. I got finished with the banana and I didn't want to leave the peel in my car so ... I hit the button to roll down the window with my left hand and tried to throw the peel out with my right and if you hit my window button twice it will roll down the window just about half way and then go right back up... Which I did NOT know at the time...well thats exactly what happened... I'm driving down the road with my right arm stuck in the window on the left side....Still trying to drive with my left arm.. so I look like a stupid pretzel and had to take my left hand off the wheel just long enough to hit the button to get my right arm out of the window.... needless to say I had a very nasty bruise on my arm from the window and OH HOW STUPID I FELT!!!

I've always believed in buying American, so my first new car was a Hyundai Excel. I bought it at the Ford Hundai dealer, so I naturally thought it was an American Ford. I got a lot of crap from my guy friends.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
