Weird Email Message PW Authentication Message

Recommended Posts

Hi guys! My email hasn't changed, yet I got this message popping up wanting me to update my email. And when I did it gave me this message wanting me to re-enter my password. I didn't change my email. It's still valid. And still in use, and I'm getting email notifications from BP. So why am I being prompted to enter my password. Am I being hacked by someone using a disguise of BP in order to capture my pw?

Thanks!

Fluffy

Hi @FluffyChix, was the password popup that you saw initially displayed directly on BariatricPal.com? Or was it an email that received or something along those lines?

Hi Ken! Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Here is where I got it:

It popped up as a Notification (upper right of screen--third message down) and it keeps popping up. Then when I click on it, it leads me to this screen. But my email is exactly the same. No change. Then it wants me to type in my password. But nothing has changed and it set off alarm bells that maybe some bad guy was trying to capture my password.

And while we are on the matter of weird notifications- I occasionally am getting " No Permission", I could understand if I was trying to access The Veterans Forum, because I haven't fulfilled the requirements but this may show up on post-surgery, sleeve or other forums. AM I somehow confusing the internet gurus?📈📉

@FluffyChix Aha, that message is indeed generated by our system, and it's nothing to be afraid of 🙂. The message is being generated in error - we're looking into it as we speak!

I'll update you when we have it all sorted out, thank you for letting us know!

So far, no love notes! I did reset my pw though. And it looks like I'm getting my email notifications. :)

TY and have an awesome Thanksgiving!

Hi @Matt Z - I believe we've got this issue resolved - please let me know if you're still having issues!

I've still got 2 of them in my notifications list, but if it's dealt with on your end, I'm ok with them still being there.

Thanks Ken!

Hi @Matt Z, they should still appear there, but they shouldn't be from after I responded saying it was fixed - they should be from prior to that.

They should drop out of your notifications altogether over the next few weeks.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
