Not the most fun topic to talk about, but I have been having bouts of watery diarrhea. It seems to come intermittently and I can't seem to link it to food, as it happens randomly. Today was pretty bad, and even trusted a fart I shouldn't have. My stomach has been burning and feeling just off.

I'm 4 weeks post op tomorrow. Is this normal? I'm concerned I'm going to dehydrate.

I started having issue about 2.5 months post op. It's been going for 2 weeks now. Surgeon told me if goes for a month then see a gastrointestinal. It's gotten a little better last day or so but not gone. Funny cause in the beginning I was having to take softeners

Are you drinking dairy with Lactose in it? You may be lactose intolerant now which can give you tummy probs and diarrhea. Try switching to lactose free and see if that helps.

Well you might be OK with cheese and yoghurt. I only have lactose issues with milk (and when I used to have it, cream).

I had my sleeve on April 8th. I have been eating , chicken broth and just started chicken Soup mixed with broth April 12th. My problem is that as soon as I eat the soup I seem to have diarrhea. Is their anyone having similar problems please let me know.

It is like rolling dice here... I can go a couple days normally, but then a day or two of non stop misery.

My surgeon said no imodium--your body is adjusting and the process takes time. Imodium will shut the bowel down and only prolong the adjustment period.

I have not been able to link it to a particular Protein Powder or shake either, but I am starting to suspect it is the Multivitamin or Tricor I take. Probiotics don't seem to have an impact either.

def afraid to go back to work before this is under control....

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
