Pouch Reset/Back to Liquids?

Recommended Posts

So I had a terrible few days eating and gained a few pounds and needed to reset both my head and my pouch. So today, I started all liquids again. 3 Protein Shakes for the 3 meals of the day and then just flavored water in between.

Has anyone done a sleeve reset or gone back to liquids for a bit to refocus? If so, how long did you do it?

Thanks!

Sure, I used to reset monthly to clear out things that snuck back in, jumpstart a stall or ease constipation... Only for a few days max but my team was always on board with my plans. Any direction from yours?

Sorry you're having a rough patch girlie!!! ((hugs))

I think there are several "camps" with differing opinions on the value of the Liquid Protein reset. But you know? If you were a noob and didn't know what works for you, then I'd prolly jump in and give my 2 cents. But you aren't. You KNOW you. You know your needs.

I think there's nothing wrong with doing this like @GreenTealael said. It's basically a "protein" fast of sorts. Meh. NBD. Try it! If it works well for you, then you know it's a plan that can be a useful strategy for you down the road if necessary. If not, then you can always try diff things.

I started IFing when I felt like I was really slowing down on weight loss and losing my motivation and drive. Luckily for me Green, sillykitty and Matt were already doing IF and (so was Mr. F), so it made it easy. I really like it. Don't know if that could also be a tool for you down the road.

Let us know your results ok? Like if you feel your restriction better, if it stops your craving for contraband, and also the weight loss ok?

Wish I had 1st hand knowledge of doing it so I could share!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
