Lets talk tylenol.. doc recommended me taking tylenol as we are not allowed NSAIDS. so my question is this? which would be better the gel caps or the little red m&m shaped ones? and then extra strength or regular?

Personal preference, all will fit in your pouch. I've heard mention of avoiding gel caps as they can get "stuck" along the way when the shell starts to dissolve and gets sticky, but I haven't seen anything official on that part.

Gels should release faster / higher up in the intestinal tract with the Water you'd drink to take one, the red coated ones would have to wait until the stomach acids are introduced before they started to properly dissolve.

Regular strength Tylenol is 325 mg, extra strength Tylenol is 500 mg...this is per tablet or capsule.

There is a limit to what amount of acetaminophen/Tylenol can be taken safely daily without causing harm to the liver. This was actually recently lowered on most package inserts to a dose of 3,000 mg a day, down from 4,000 mg a day. You can even find this information right on the Tylenol website.

@Matt Z im wondering if gel would be an okay idea to get and just poke a small hole in the capsule and take the inside liquid stuff with some Water or a bite of applesauce or something

@KimTriesRNY i wonder how that one would be, so far i only saw liquid tylenol for colds but im wondering if theres any additive to liquid tylenol that would upset a new tummy? have you tried liquid or know anyone that has and was ok with it?

Yes. I used it after my surgery. It was preferable to crushing up the Tylenol pills and the Percocet I was prescribed made me so sick I couldn’t take it. I took liquid Tylenol for a few weeks for my surgical pain, headaches, cramps, anything.

I bought it at Walgreens and Walmart right by the regular Tylenol. There was no cold medicine in it.

To me, anything was better than crushing meds.

Yeah- I did the liquid Tylenol, too. But make sure it’s the adult version, because the kids version is loaded in sugar and so sweet. I know Rite Aid has the adult kind in their generic brand..

I don't see why not. My Vitamin D pills are gel caps about the same size and I've no issue with them. I don't see why putting a pinhole in the liquid gel cap would be problematic. It's not a delayed release situation. My 2 cents. Not a doctor, don't play one on tv and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night... lol

Just an additional perspective: when you buy yourself the liquid Tylenol, go ahead and get yourself some caplets or capsules, too, just in case. The liquid made me so sick. I couldn't swallow even half a dose. I did fine with the extra strength caplets (the ones shaped like pills were easier to swallow than the round ones, for me) while I needed them.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
