How do I know I’m full?

Recommended Posts

I’m 2 weeks post op from gastric bypass? My NUT told me I’d probably only be able to eat 2 bites?!? I’m eating more than that. How do I know I’m full? I don’t want to screw up this whole process 😥

If you don't have a signal (I never did until it was too late) try to never eat past the recommended amount for your stage example

1/8cup, 1/4cup, etc...

Better safe than sorry

I don’t know either until it’s too late (5 weeks out) so I stick to the recommended amounts (1/4-1/2 c)

I don't necessarily feel full either. However, we shouldn't be aiming for full. You don't want to stretch anything. We should be aiming for satisfied. I don't really feel anything. So as suggested, I measure my food and only eat that. The times I think nbn I feel full, the feeling is in my chest. I'm happy because I don't have a gratifying feeling from eating anymore. I have an "I ate" feeling.

I’ve never had a full feeling that’s why I was concerned just my NUT said 2 bites of course I wasn’t thinking her two bites and mine weren’t the same lol. I’m using baby spoons.
I’ve started measuring everything and never eat more than a 1/4 of a cup and sometimes stop before that if I get a tight feeling in my chest. Thanks everyone!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
