Pork loin made in the crock pot or oven

Recommended Posts

Has anyone made pork loin in the oven or crock pot? I used to make it before my surgery and would like to incorporate it back into my diet. I guess even any meat would satisfy my hunger for meat. Anyone have any thoughts about me eating meat at 3 months post op. Thanks.

Go for it. at 3 months post op, you should have been cleared for the "try it out" phase, where you get to find out if you can tolerate foods. However you want to cook your meats, go right on and have fun, just watch the sugar content for those added items is all.

What is your favorite meat?

LOL trick question. It's a shorter list to ask me what meats I don't like LOL

Lamb is my favorite meat. Do you like lamb? It is so delicious baked in the oven until it falls apart. I like it with salt, garlic and potatoes.

I make it in my crock pot all the time. I make lots of chicken and pork dishes that way. I tolerate meat as long as it is moist and I can chew it well without it being too dry.

Can you tell me how you cook vegetables in the crock pot to make them so that they stay nice and colorful after they are ready to be eaten? Every time that I add vegetable like carrots and cellery to the crock pot they end up looking dark. Should I be adding vegetable broth to the meat and vegetables?

I’m just over 2.5 months and I’ve been eating pork since purée. No problem with any meat. Just take small bites and chew really well. The more you chew, the more you get to experience the flavor, anyway. :)

Pork loin in the crockpot is good. I usually mess it up in the oven, but I think that’s user error ;P I’ve had it a few times but prefer fish/chicken

Can you ,ipeople eat this stringy meat, do you have to blenderize it? I guess I'm asking because as a future RnY my stoma, the hole between my pouch and my rerouted intestines is the size of a dime, what keeps it from clogging, even,well- chewed. I have, had trouble with with pilled beef and, pork pre surgery. When I have eaten this kind of pork , it feels like it is there a long time before it,moves.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
