I am trying to figure out my Vitamin regimen to begin the at the end of my 2nd week post op. Do I need to go with all chewable or will capsules be ok?

Any recommendation are appreciated.

I take Centrum orange chewables. It is 11.00 dollars for a 90 day supply. I dont think I need to pay alot for Vitamins. Centrum gives me the basic vitamins that are necessary.

I tried BariActive capsules at first (they came free with my Nascobal) but they made me very nauseous. Switched to Centrum chewables and haven't had a problem.

Bari'Pals , I love, well as much love. as a little caplet engenders,my prenatal Vitamin I am taking pre surgery. If what I am reading is correct, after my upcoming surgery my little bottle of prenatal Vitamins is going to,be pried out of my unwilling hands and replaced with chewable vitamins. And gummie vitamins are a no-no because of their sugary corn- syruppy (yikes what a word) base. My cause for worry, I am a denture wearer. Now for you natural teeth people out there; dentures only chew at 65-85% the efficientcy of your choppers you grew yourself. Certainly better than being toothless and gumming everything but still not as perfect as the showroom fresh bundles you still have.
So I soak them in warm Water, hope they dissolve? Do I just hold them. in my moth and hope my salliva will either soften or dissolve them, do it put them in my handy pillcrusher, crunch them into submission and stir them into either applesauce or sugar free cool whip? What is a prostetically enhance person to do? On a fixed income not sure I can afford Tespo or Patches from Bariatric Pal. H*E*L*P!!!!

Check with your surgeon. I was allowed pills as soon as I could tolerate them.

You do not need to take chewable or bariatric-marketed Vitamins post-op. You can take regular vitamins and if they’re too big use a pill cutter to make them smaller.

Did you double the does on the Centrum?

The NUT said pill - capsules would be ok but that liquid or chewable are better.

Yes, I take one Centrum with Breakfast and one with dinner.

I think the amounts are half that of most Bariatric Vitamins, at least that is what I was told.

It was hard for me to get my regular pills down after surgery. I still choke on them sometimes. I take Women's One A Day gummies. It's almost like a snack! Hahaha! I got some dissolving Biotin from BariatricPal that are good. Just make sure your Vitamin has Iron in it - a lot of them don't. Mine doesn't, so I take a tiny pill for that.

Our school nurse crushes pills and puts them in applesauce for kids who can't swallow pills. I think that would be ok.

i bought calcium citrate wafers (they look like big round certs but melt in mouth). They are citrus like and chalky taste wise and a tiny bit tart so its kinda like eating a candy lol. Based on the schedule in my doctors packet - the suggest taking the Calcium 3x a day = breakfast/lunch/dinner --- obviously we don't eat a full meal so i just calculate it time of day wise when that would be . Then the Multivitamin (i have flintstones complete chewable) you take at bedtime. Seems like an easy way to remember to me so i'm going with it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
