Also how long have you been stalled for?

Well, I have been stalled for about a month. I had lost 25 pounds at one point and gained back 5 pounds. I am only eating about 600 calories a day. I am going to increase my Water intake.

Can you feasibly go back to basics? Protein then vegetables then complex carbs sparingly, min of 80 g Protein since you are a lifting male, 90 oz fluids (doesnt have to be just Water )

Cut out ALL OTHER FOODS that might slow down progress

You may need more cals, but the right kind, boost your calories and Protein with Protein Shakes

Sorry TMI but how are your bowel movements, if not super regular, weight loss will stall I know for a fact

Get ahold of your team or NUT and make a plan, very important to let them know you have concerns, bug them and don't feel bad about it at all, you pay good money for their medical attention.

Also I was stalled for a month during the second month, it happens

Yes I will go back to basics. I really need to make this work. I didnt have most of my stomach removed to lose a lousy 20 pounds!
Its only the second month, give it a little time some strong effort, you'll do amazing (Men always lose a lot more than women but who's counting lol)

I’ve been in a plateau for months now. My dr said I needed to exercise more and be very strict, all of which I’ve done and I’m still stalled. But I’m happier and healthier, so I’m gonna keep on keeping on and hope for the best!

I'm at 4 months post op and I've lost 70, but I had a much higher BMI than you did. Still, though, I hadn't lost 50 pounds by 2 months out. That's a lot. I think that you're doing GREAT! You weigh 241 at 6 feet tall?! That's not too shabby. The pounds are coming off, and will keep coming off!

Someone posted this recently and it made me feel a lot better about my 33lb weight loss ( I am 9 weeks out)

I have lost 22 lbs and I am 7 weeks post op tomorrow. My weight at surgery was 213 lbs and I am 5'5. I feel as if the weight loss is going so slow now but I keep my hopes up because I have read many people from here eventually lose slowly but steadily and reach their goal weight. Dont lose hope cause I haven't! :)

what is your daily calorie intake? drinking 64 oz of liquid a day really helps. my wl kicked into gear when I started drinking more. whether its warm or cold mix that 64 oz at the start of the day and track it. weight training will cause muscle to build which weighs more but in the long run will cause better metabolism to burn the cals. are you male or female?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
