I have two goals: My doctors expectation which I am about 4 lbs away from and 4 months out.

My goal I am about 20 lbs away from and hope to reach it in the next two months.

I think it depends largely on how much weight one needs to lose to reach their goal weight. According to your stats, you need to lose 31 pounds to reach your goal weight -- and you're only one month out.

You might be surprised and exceed your goals. Wouldn't that be great?

Congratulations on the weight you've already lost.

How has your recovery been?

I never thought I'd meet goal....and I'm literally one or two really big poops...from being at goal. LOL. A little over seven months after surgery.

Honestly? I thought I would have the average sleeve experience....and lose about 60% of my excess weight...and end up around 210. I'm a realist. Ending up with average results....sounded great.

The really hopeful part of me wished for onederland....I didn't really dream past getting just under 200. That seemed too amazing to be true.

To reach 170 in under eight months? it's surreal and bizarre to me. I'm shocked daily.

Once in a while we beat the odds. Who knew?

@Creekimp13 Your experience is truly inspiring. I'm probably a realist in this regard, too. After so many weight-loss disappointments, why should this one be any different?

I've asked this same question of others, but how did you arrive at your goal weight?

How disappointed :P would you be to drop even more weight?

Yep - I was a relative lightweight though! But was climbing back to my pre gastric band (10 years ago) weight after it failed, so got the bypass.

my initial ‘goal’ was 170, then when I surprised the heck out of myself by looking like I would hit it, I lowered it to 156 - my BMI= not overweight any more level. Hit that within 6 months. Now I am 149 and pretty happy!

I have been pretty single minded about sticking to plan, not pushing the boundaries around experimenting with dumping from eating rubbish food - my diet is really healthy almost every day - and most importantly, I am loving the new way of eating!

And the clothes - yeeehaaaaa

I actually just updated my current weight. I am now 169 and 24 lbs to goal so I’m actually ecstatic. My recovery has been great. After next week I’ll be off soft foods and will be able to lift so I’m excited

That’s great!! It amazing me that I see the weight come off and reach miniature weekly goals. I haven’t seen the weight I am now since 2014 so I’m excited to break these goals!!

I met my goal at 1 month but I am a revision and had very little to lose...we knew that would happen. I’ll likely get a bit too low before I can fit in enough good calories to maintain a good stable weight. I refuse to eat garbage just to get calories in. Everything was in place ahead of surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
