Weight loss rate guides /goals?

Recommended Posts

Are there any weight loss rates one should be hoping g to achieve? I would imagine that such a rate would be a function of excess weight for men and women.

I am almost 4 calendar months post-op and I started at 164 lbs excess weight, and have been averaging 3.8 lbs /week last 6 weeks, pretty straight trendline. Is there a way I can know if I am exceeding typical goals, or faling short, and a way to see how those parameters change as I approach my goal weight?

The sleeve has an up to 70% of the excess weight loss rate in the first year. Going off your call out. At 6 foot 1, 394.9, your projected losses are:

61 lbs by 3 months post op
103 lbs by 6 months post op
144 lbs by 12 months post op.

Calculations drop to 60% of the excess for the next 2 years or so, and then 55% for the next 3 years.

Thanks, Matt! I thought I was losing slowly, but I'm way ahead on their curve! Yeah, me!

Thanks for link. My surgery was actually 353.1. so it appears that I am ahead of that chart projection, but only by 5.6 lbs or 10% of the projection.

I am trying to find info from people that reached their ideal weight and what their loss profile was like. I am not settling for 70% excess weight loss.

Look at peoples tickers or info on the side - that should give you some ideas

I lost all of the excess weight in about 6 months. On the last 15 lbs to goal

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
