Have you talked to your Dr? Are you on Zofran or Transderm-Scop? Have you been evaluated that you don't have a complication like a stricture?

I just saw doc monday and talked to him today

yes, gave me zonfran. But he didn’t want me to take it unless necessary

concerned it could mask

im 5 weeks Friday.

he told me to go back to stage 1.liquids.

i threw up 2 times today

said I could have irritated sleeve

i need to calm the sleeve down

I leaned not to take Vitamins on empty stomach

it sucks, I follow the directions, and am having issues. I know it’s not an exact science

if I continue like this, I’ll end up in hospital like last week.

If you’re starting to feel queasy that is when you should take the zofran. You risk serious dehydration otherwise.

I hope you turn the corner shortly. I struggled with nausea and vomiting, spent over a week in the hospital due to it. I’m very cautious about what I eat. I also discovered I just cannot tolerate artificial sweeteners and am very sensitive to certain things now. I’m extra careful and tend to stick with what i know is safe. I hope you find what will work for you. Once you get through this life is much better :)

I used these anti nausea Patches (see link below), all natural, and they worked well for me. Put it behind your ear. At this point you might as well try anything. Give them a shot. They are only $13

I have the opposite problem to you. I can eat a TON and I am 5 weeks post op and worried I wasted my money and that I will be eating like before the surgery very soon.

If you are vomiting a lot and not keeping fluids down you should get some electrolytes too. You could get dehydrated very very easily if you are unable to keep food down. This one is great. See link

Bajan this is kind of concerning. Should you really be able to eat a 'ton' only 5 weeks out? I'm 7 weeks out and can still only manage about 2-3 tablespoons of (real) food at a time. By real I mean not chips or ice cream or anything like that, which is supposed to go down easier. What did your doc say?

@Purple girl I was about 4.5 weeks maybe 5 weeks out and I started to get really nauseous, I've been pregnant twice so it did feel like morning sickness. I didn't vomit much, mostly constantly dry heaving. But the nausea was relentless, they have me Zofran and didn't seem too concerned. I saw my PCP, she gave me compazine cause the Zofran didn't work, then we tried one other med. My nausea lasted about maybe 2 weeks, then went away. I have no idea what brought it on, but they didn't tell me to go back to liquids I just kinda did on my own. Hopefully it will be like mine and just pass. I regretted my sleeve for awhile because of that, but not anymore.

magpie26

thanks!!!

i went to doc today. They did in fact push me back to liquids and yogurt till I see then tuesday

if nasaua is better, then I’ll move on again.

they want to make sure there is nothing wrong

he thinks it could be a combo of irritation stomach and I was talking to one of the girls who work there, she had it. She said I may not be eating enough and getting naseau from no food in stomach

she said to get mint oil. I did. She said to put on my wrist. Also warm liquids over cold, and just to keep sipping Protein Shake.

im gonna try that

I have to be honest, I really havnt ate all that much

oh, he also tailed back on Vitamins, till Tuesday

I had that starting in week 4, and continued for a few weeks, diminishing day by day

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
