Vaseline or Petroleum Jelly on the Anus

Hey everyone I had my surgery on June 29th. I have been constipated for feel I want to go and just can’t.. I remember when my oldest was a baby my doctor would tell me to apply a bit of Vaseline or petroleum jelly around the anus to help him go. Let’s say today I tried it on myself and within the hour I got everything out including my mothers pot roast 5 years ago ???
