This is my second time around. First time I had the sleeve now I have the RNY bypass but it seems that everything I have learned throughout the past couple of years I have thrown out the window. And I mean literally because no matter how hard I try to remember what I should eat I can’t remember what foods to eat now that I am on the liquid diet. Not sure if milk is even OK to drink I’m afraid to try anything. Any advice or recipes

How long ago did you have your bypass? Is this the post-op diet phase immediately following the bypass or are you a few months out?

Did your team/surgeon not give you any instructions to follow?

I’m sorry, completely off topic but someone selected the “confused” emoticon and I’m not sure why? Your question was clear and reasonable.
Instead of calling her out, I’ll just say think twice before you do that. It’s condescending to do this on posts that don’t warrant it and it affects your “reputation” tracked within the community.

Perhaps it wasn't deliberate but a mistake, if people are using mobile phones it may be difficult to select the emoticon that was intended and they may not have realised with emoticon was selected.

Well I can see how my comment was a bit harsh if people read it that way lol. I just hope people are getting good care, handouts etc. usually people get handouts for their diets.

I am one to never create drama nor do I want to make people feel bad. So yes, thank you AshAsh and I agree with your statement. But I also apologize to anyone if they thought it was a blunt statement

It was a completely reasonable question and I think everyone who reads the OPs post will ask the same thing in their minds. It doesn’t mean that if their doctor did or didn’t give them instructions, that their question is less valid. I don’t think you were offensive in the slightest. I will leave it at this, and say that this person had done this to my posts over and over, and I just think it’s curious. How confused could you be by everything I say. Anyway, I’ll end it there.

Please consult your NUT or Team as they may have special plans in place for you especially since you are a conversion.

I think the confused emoticon either is condescending or means someone needs help/explanation and it's really hard to distinguish between the two without a comment attached. But I am also beginning to get confused emoticons on things that are clearly stated...

Maybe their intention was that it was confusing for a doctor's office to have not provided diet instructions? As you said, without a comment, it is hard to know what someone is thinking.

I do agree to check with your NUT, but since it's a holiday -

I had the sleeve, but I believe liquids have the same requirements for both.

All Clear Liquids, Soups (strain out chunks), Protein Shakes, low-carb high-protein yogurt, skim milk

Hope this helps and good luck!

That’s why I put it out there that it can affect the reputation tracking. I do believe it’s got a negative connotation within the app. It’s frustrating because I’ve gotten this reaction from this person quite a bit and I don’t know if she means it to be confused by my response or the thread in general. I just put it out there that it could have a negative meaning. Again, I don’t want to cause drama, but bring light to how it comes across.

@AshAsh1 Do you mean it implies that the person posts unclear comments? Is that why it would have a negative connotation? I admit, I haven't read the instructions for commenting.

Yes that is my interpretation. I could be wrong but yes. I don’t know exactly how you earn a negative reputation, but I have seen it with other posters. If “likes” gives you a positive, I feel like “confused” is a negative. I personally feel like the connotation is negative, especially if the comment is clear and easily readable.

All they gave me was the eat liquid for one week, mushy food for the following 2 weeks and as the weeks go by introduce solids food into my diet. My nutritionist did not give me any recipes on how to start it I could not afford to buy that book they were selling

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
