You're not alone. I was banded on 10/11 and have enjoyed searching the site and seeing what others have to say. If you go to the monthly support group you'll find an October 07. These are people who were banded in the month of October. You'll see there's quite a few. Just keep exploring and you'll find lots of good information. Good luck.

I've only been in this site for about 2 weeks. I love it here. I was banded in June 07 and it has helped me get more focused on my goal. I still haven't figured out how to get my pictures on the site, but I'm working at it.

I think that its pretty normal that you're still hungry. As your swelling goes down you're less and less restrictive. I've found that by the 3rd to 4th week you can eat a lot more and am hungry more. I'll be glad to get my first fill. They say once you get your fill (maybe 2 or 3 fills) that the hunger goes away. I'm 4 weeks since being banded and do get hungry, but I'm working really hard not to give in to it. Knowing that my first fill is coming, helps alot. Good Luck

Yes Hersheekisz it's normal - are you able to eat cream Soups - i made soupy mash potatoes - that really helped me...

I read that alot of people think that the band takes away hunger - For me that's not a true statement - cuz even when I am full - I still want to eat it's cuz I know i only ate 1 cup of food and not 3 bowl fulls - I really don't think us fat people eat cuz we are truely hungry - we don't know what true hunger is - cuz we ate all the time - hugh quanities - high fat & high sugar foods. We are experts at head hunger issue... I will sit here today and tell you that I will be phyically full (i really concentrate on my phyical fullness) but will still "think" i am hungry... Well gotta get back to work - will ck in later - but ya you are normal...

I think a lot will depend on what you do. I teach at community college and I went back today, five days after surgery. I tutor for five hours straight and that was doable but hard. Had I been working at a desk, I would have been fine. Tomorrow I teach three classes but I have a few hours in between each class that I can rest. And I'll sit down while I teach, if I have to.

I can't imagine returning this quickly to a job that requires standing all day or having to get up and down a lot, though there are some who have done it and said they were fine. For me, it wasn't the soreness but just feeling weak and a little dizzy.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
