December Surgery Dates

Recommended Posts

don't be nervous, it is a GOOD thing you (WE) are doing. We have had lots of success so far in December, no reason to think it will change! Just think of what next year will hold for us?

Ok I am one day post op. I am having killer shoulder pain but other than that doing ok. It's funny I am hungrier now than I was on the two week liquid diet. I actually got to that dieter's high that I had not felt in years. My dieters high is when I am not particulary interested in food and have tons of energy and willpower. During this phase I asked myself if I even needed the band. But I know that does not last and that is when I will need the band! But I am down 14 pounds and am determined to keep going. I look forward to succeeding on the journey! Can't wait to start exercising.:whoo:

Hi there! I have been reading for some time now, but haven't posted much. My surgery date is TOMORROW!!! (Dec. 19th). I am nervous and excited, worried the surgery won't work and sure it will ....all at the same time! I am making myself a little crazy here.:)

Well, wish me luck. I'll be post-band tomorrow...YEAH! :whoo:

Welcome to all the newbie bandits . . . and to those still to come! We've got quite a group going! How cool is that! Here's hoping everyone has a smooth sail to the other side!

I love this - having a December 07 forum.

We are in such close stages. Some just banded, and others on preop diets. This is great.

Terrified!!!!!!!- My Surgery is Thursday the 20th and I am scared!!! Reading this has been very helpful though  I have been on straight liquids (no milk) for two weeks with the past couple days super Clear Liquids (no Tomato or Orange juice).. I miss chewing!!! I was told to not even have gum! And I had to take a laxative today to completely clear me out ( that was fun to do at work). Tomorrow is a bunch of antibiotics and Thursday nothing at all- I cannot have anything to drink even post op until Friday morning. They do an xray Fri AM to make sure everything is OK before they let me drink. Sounds like my doc is super strict from what I have been reading but I think I like it that way :(

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
