Hey all you folks banded in the last week. I felt kind of crummy the first week. Sore, gas pain, shoulder pain, tiredness. But I am at the end of week 2 and feel really good. So, keep your chins up, you can make it.

I am still on the liquid diet for another week. It was difficult to have Soup while everyone else was eating and drinking on Christmas, but I made it. I thank God for the strength. Anyway, it is all worth it. When I look at the other people on this site who have been banded for a while and are doing so well, and look so good, I know I made the right decision. Good Luck to all.

Hello I would like to join the December bandsters. I was banded December 20th. I live in Windsor, CO and had the greatest surgeon (and his office staff are wonderful too) Dr. Micheal Johnell Greeley, CO.

I am doing well. Got my post op check up today and everything is going well. Yippee I made it and I am a bandster.

I got a patch behind my ear they said it was for motion sickness and also helped with nausea. They said like you would use on a cruise. But the wrist band thing sounds neat. Does it help??

Hi ladies,

I did it, got banded yesterday. no nausea, very little pain. I cant belive it! I'm banded, yahoo!!!.

I had very little pain, no nausea wants so ever. I can not shower for 48 hours (smelly lol) I will have a sponge bath. I have a little pain on one incision site ( I bet its the port) but it is tolerable. I need to buy a few things at Walmart, creamy Soups, yogurt suger free items (I know, I had the list of items to buy ahead of time, but didnt do it) I think it will feel good to get out a little.

I hope my fellow lap-B's are recovery well

:rolleyestomorrow (dec. 28th) is my surgery. 12:30. i haven't done well on the pre diet that you have suppose to do before the surgery. i don't do well when i'm starving. i'm excited and scared.

i hope i can recover fast and i don't regret doing this. pray for me. i wish my surgery was early in the morning, i'm afraid they might want me to stay the night in the hospital and i don't want to.

has anyone else not done well with the pre diet requirements?

you will do great, I dont know how many lap-B's are christian, but have faith in Jesus and you will have a great outcome. I was actually watching EWTN at the hospital. I went into surgury with peace in my heart

and if you do have nausea, they have meds. actually the sleeping Doc gave me some before surgery.

God bless you

I ahd my surgery last week(12/21). All the emotions you are going through are totally normal. Relax and remember your HEALTH will benefit from dropping the weight. I wanted to back out hours before surgery. In less then a week I have lost weight. I ws up and walking within 2 hours of surgry and never looked back. Minor discomfort, everyone is different. I never needed pain meds. Others do. Listen to your body. I had to stay in the hospital overnight becuase of sleep apnea.

As far as teh diet is concerned, I didn't have a pre-op diet. I only had to be on Clear Liquids for 24 hours prior to surgery.Make sure you stick to it today.

I have not had nausia. I wasn' interested in food at all until yesteray. But I forced myself to get some protien in a couple times a day.

Good luck tomorrow and let us know how it goes.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
