Just wondering if anyone is drinking this? I only like one flavor of the Powerade zero and it’s getting kind of old.

G2 is better than real Gatorade....but it still has 45 calories per bottle that come from high fructose corn Syrup per 20 ounces.....not a great choice.

Have you tried the Mio flavors? They're worth a try, lots to choose from:)

Best wishes.

Zero Calorie Stuff I like to drink:

Water

Mio berry Grape, Orange, Black Cherry (I like the original sucralose flavors...the stevia flavors tastes ghastly to me...avoid the flavors enhanced with caffeine)

sugar free Hot Cider

Lemon Ginger tea with Splenda

Decaf coffee with Caramel Premier Protein (ok, this has calories...but the good kind)

Roasted Dandelion root tea

Toasted Rice tea

Citrus Lavender Sage tea

Sugar free Kool Aid pink lemonade mixed with Iced Tea

I also like to drink water that has had fruit pieces soaking in it like lemon water, raspberry water.....and even cucumber water tastes refreshing and good.

The problem with drinking sugar, in particular high fructose corn syrup...is that it will cause an insulin spike that will set off hunger....big nasty cycle. Also, those empty calories don't have a lot of nutrition at a time when we're at risk for nutritional deficiency. I love sugary drinks, but they can't be a part of my diet anymore. Refined high glycemic carbs murder me on the scale.

Love them...they hate me. LOL:) Once in a while I'll have about 75 calories worth of sweet refined naughty goodness on a special occasion...but it's not a daily thing.

Congrats on being down 33 pounds since your preop diet..that's terrific!

My surgeon actually tells me to drink G2. I flat out told them I drink regular Gatorade from time to time. Not fond of Powerade Zero or G2.

However, I do love Vitamin Water. I drink that more than Gatorade but switched back to drinking flavored water after two months of drinking Kombucha. Good stuff right there, good stuff.

Thank you so much for all the suggestions! I haven’t been keeping down food well, and I did test dehydrated so I’m looking for something to replace the electrolytes. I’m not concerned about the calories at this point since I’ve lost 26 lbs in 15 days (since surgery). I was doing pedialyte, but it’s not super great and getting kind of costly. I do like sugar free kool aid so I’ll definitely get some of that. I’ve never tried the Mio. I’ll look into that as well.

I’ve got to ask how you added your stats at the bottom. I’ve tried adding it to the signature section, but it never takes. Same with putting a picture in there.

I wouldn't get into the habit of drinking your calories. If it gets you by in the early stages when trying to get all your fluids in, great. But take it from a veteran, it's the absolute fastest way to gain weight back. The poster above is right, try to stick to no calorie fluids as much as possible. After all, we have very limited real estate in our tummies. Why fill it with unhealthy, empty calories?

I like Premier Protein Clear from Sam's. 20 g of Protein. Sometimes I cut it with half Water.

Pickle Juice helps with electrolytes!

I just went into settings through the app and where it says "Signature" I added everything right there, then saved it.

I’ve tried that and it won’t work for me. I even tried on the laptop and nope. :( It just keeps trying to validate my session. Oh well. Still working out the kinks with the update I suppose.

I picked up some Mio, sf koolaid, Vitamin Water and regular Gatorade. I know it’s not the best choice, but I get REALLY dehydrated. And since I haven’t been able to keep down more than 300 calories a day since day 5 (I’m 15 days out) a little hunger spike would be good for me. I’ve already lost 26 lbs in 15 days and 81 lbs since I started my NUT visits. Don’t get me wrong, I love the weight loss, but I don’t want to end up starving myself. Thanks for letting me know it’s working well for you. Made me feel much better. Good job on the weight loss too! That’s awesome!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
