I was only on liquid diet 4 days prior to the surgery. I thought 4 days was rough but I can’t imagine more than that.

What are you taking in? I used Protein Jello and Protein Drinks. I ovoided times my family ate because it was so hard. I drank Water a gallon of water a day at least. Stick with it. You have this! This is one of the worst parts!

Do you have to have another endoscopy (I assume how they saw the liver) prior to clearance? I would imagine your doctor estimated how much time you would need before surgery. I'm one of few that wasn't told to be on a liquid diet. I need to now because my "last supper" which lasted the past few weeks has me up 10 pounds. :o I'm the same way, though, I worry about everything. I still have to get clearance from the cardiologist and take a stress test the day before surgery. Crazy! Hang in there. :)

Actually they never said anything about my liver! Everything is perfectly fine for surgery, maybe im just in my head a bit because this two week liquid diet has me struggling! I have cheated a few times but I will no longer for the next week! I promise

Mine is 2 weeks, first week I cheated almost every day with small things but Im one week away and i need to get my head straight. So that everything goes well.. I have no liver problems but i keep reading about people saying that they'll cancel which makes me scared about mine... but i have no health problems. So I think i should be okay if I carry this week to a T

I don’t think many of us on here do have liver problems. The point of the liquid diet is to shrink your liver prior to surgery so that it decreases the risk of complications. Your stomach and liver are very close (if not over lapping). The bigger you are, the bigger your liver is & longer you will need a liquid diet for.

Yes!!!!! How are you doing on your pre op diet?

Sent from my SM-G928T using BariatricPal mobile app

Uggghh not so good. I'm traveling, family reunion weekend and my son's 10th birthday all during my pre op liquid stage...I'll do great for 4 days then slip up. I don't have my notebook with me and I feel lost. But I'm drinking Water daily and Protein Shakes when I don't eat. How about you?

I’m doing so-so...the Protein Shakes are nasty. I’m having a hard time getting them in. I need to do better for sure. I have my pre-op physical tomorrow. Last step before the surgery! How’s it going for you?
How did your pre op appointment go? I don't mind the shakes but I wish they had a variety pack I get tired of the same taste...I'm scared to get on the scare at my pre op appointment.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
