GALS who started their journey over 300 lb+<br /> +

Recommended Posts

This is me. My highest wt, which is also my starting weight, was 308. (I’m doing a self-pay outpatient procedure,so I wasn’t required to do monthly weigh-ins) I’m 5 days into the 2 wk pre-op diet and have dropped 4lbs already. If I had to guess, I think I’ll be somewhere around 293 or so come surgery day. I too am curious about how quickly I’ll drop the weight post-op,but I’m hoping for the best. At this point, I’m just praying for a speedy recovery and zero complications.

My pre-OP weight was 375.

Surgery: 345 on 2/10/20

I'm at 275 now, so I've lost 100 lbs total, 70 in the last 4 months

What has your diet and exercise been like? We have the same surgery date! Since day of surgery, I’ve “only” lost 45lbs. I’m not at (roughly) 270. I’ve been eating around 700-800 cals and getting in at least 10,000 steps a day every day for the past month and started some strength training videos several times per week. But it doesn’t seem to be speeding anything up at all. Still only losing 2 lbs a week.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, I forgot I had actually posted something instead of just lurking like I normally do 😅 I try to stay under 1000 cal. a day, some days I manage, some days I don't. I'm gonna be honest, I dont exercise routinely yet, just normal, routine activities that have gotten easier like mowing the yard and gardening. Head hunger is a real problem for me and some days I snack more than i should, but i still keep steadily losing about 3 lbs a week. I suppose I've just been really lucky that the bypass seems to be working well for me

I was 339 on 5/26 at my pre-op appt. Day of surgery was at 320 and two weeks out am at 312. I had my lapband removed are the same time as the bypass and had an allergic reaction to the skin glue. I am on my 2nd round of steroids, ugh. Hopefully this will help and get it cleared up. I go back to work on the 29th and I know my pants rubbing is going to drive me nuts all day long.

Congrats! I've only lost just over 40% of my body weight myself, but I'm also only 7 months out lol so it'll be a few months until I'm at half my body weight... I can't wait! It has to be an amazing feeling to know you're half the weight you used to be. I myself am counting down the pounds until I hit onederland. Just 31 more pounds to go!

I hit my one year anniversary a couple weeks ago and as of today I weigh 227 and I started at 375 .... 148 pound weigh loss, still can’t believe it! I know I have so much more to go but I couldn’t be happier!

I am now 100 pounds down from my highest weight. I lost about 70 pounds before surgery, and I've only lost about 30 pounds since surgery. I can hardly believe I've lost 100 pounds. I've seen other people who have lost 100 pounds and wondered how they did it because it seems impossible. I've gone on a lot of diets in my life and never lost anywhere close to that much.

But even more amazing than the fact that I've lost so much weight is the fact that I have so much more to lose. A lot of people start their journey at my current weight or lower. If I lose half of my highest weight, I will still be obese. I started out the weight of two obese people. Now that I'm 100 pounds down, I'm the weight of two normal people.

I was 450 when I started my overall weight loss journey. I was down to 331 at first SWL visit and as of surgery Thursday (sleeve) I was 308. I went to a dr's appt Monday and was down to 298. I refuse to weigh myself again until my 2 week follow up lol. Pics of full body was me at my highest and 3 days before surgery. Pics of just my head was me on Monday. I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
