June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

Recommended Posts

I am June 11th! I am doing the sleeve and my wife is doing the bypass the same day. So nervous and so excited! I am also excited that I have found this forum as we close in our surgery day.
Wow, that could be very cool having the same diet for both of you! Congrats on scheduling the date!

@pacheka

I’m right along with you as far as not doing good for the holidays. You’re 4lbs ahead of me, so we should Celebrate. Look how far we’ve gotten. ❤️❤️❤️

Only lost 4lbs for month of December. Not gonna let that bring me down! Lets start the year off right!!!!

4 lbs is still a loss! If you lost 4 lbs a month for the next 6 months, that would be 24 lbs...not to be sniffed at!

Not going to lie, fellow June 2018 Sleevers, I haven’t lost any weight since late August. I did great in the beginning - lost 40 lbs. I was totally disciplined, there was no junk in the house & people at work were so considerate! No junk there either. But as soon as I was able to eat whatever I wanted, I went right back to my old grazing habits - which is really easy to do when you figure out that you can eat a little bit very few hours. And I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it’s all emotional eating & being unable to break some deeply ingrown bad habits. So angry with myself for going through all of this & then messing it all up! My Nurse Practitioner asked me why I am sabotaging myself & wants me to see a shrink but I’ve been there before & am highly skeptical that there’s anything new I can learn. After 30 years of serious eating problems & TRYING EVERYTHING to lose, I sincerely doubt there’s anything new under the sun. And I really think I should have had brain surgery instead of sleeve because this problem is all in my head! I can’t stop the negative thoughts because I’ve been here so many times before, giving myself the same berating & still not able to change for any length of time. I know I have ADD & have never been able to focus for long. I don’t know why I thought this time would be different.

Its New Years Day & I haven’t even tried to make resolutions because, if sleeving didn’t work, nothing will.

Sorry to be such a downer. I want to just accept myself as I am but I just can’t believe I am such an idiot!

Oh well, maybe tomorrow I’ll have the will to try again. 😞

Just love yourself for who you are. Be gentle with yourself. If u dont get a grip on the food. Maybe join the gym for the new year and let that take your stress away

Totally get you. I’m certainly not at eating like I was. A lot of things I used to eat make me nauseous. Sweets are too much for me. But yes, if you eat a little, you can eat a little later. I try not yo eat meals every few hours. I’ll have Breakfast then a cheese stick or apple. Then lunch, then snack, then dinner then snack. So I eat 6 times a day. But those Snacks are cheese, apple, nuts or Peanut Butter.

try that.

My surgery was on June 4th and I've lost 90lbs since surgery! I've lost 119 overall through all of last year. I can't believe how well my sleeve is working! I feel like a completely different person. I struggled a little during November because I had stopped weighing my food, now that I've gone back to that I've been so much more successful.

I hope youre all doing well these first few days of the New Year!

First of the year check in, surgery was June 15th I’m down 43lbs currently at 159lbs my loss has been slow and steady which was expected. My dr. Told me to aim for an average of 5lbs a month to stay on track and so far that that’s my average. My total goal was to get to about 125/135. I went from a size 14 to a size 8 currently. Honestly I’m pefrecetly comfortable with my weight and size, however I’m going to keep pushing to meet my goal set by my dr. The biggest reason is because he told me to expect a gain when I hit my maintenance stage. So I will hit my goal so when I gain stay in my comfort zone. This year I’m going to concentrate on trying to make it to the gym 3-4 times a week and build some muscle and some much lost booty lol. Other then that I’m happy to report that I’m the healthiest I’ve been in 7+ years. I’m the most comfortable and confident I’ve been ever I think. I’m looking forward to seeing what changes this year brings and I’m excited to keep sharing and being motivated by all of our June Sleevers. You guys are doing amazing.

First picture is me at about 190lbs Thanksgiving 2017

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
