  13. I'm working on incorporating all the vitamins and curious - what vitamins are you taking and how many mg of each? Also, do you find gummies easier? I don't like sweet drinks, so I can't do stick packs. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app

  16. My primary care doctor is the one who recommended surgery to me because he said women over 50 nearly never manage to lose and keep the weight off without some kind of procedure, so there goes your husband's argument about age. I had all of these conversations with myself leading up to surgery and what convinced me was the week before surgery, when I started my liquid diet one day early - I found out midday that I was a day early and immediately went out and ate a meal I shouldn't have. When there is no immediate medical issue at stake, I cheat, cheat, cheat on diets. Kind of an extreme way to discipline myself, but it is working. There is too much at stake for me to cheat on this. I am in week 3 and already feel better and have more confidence in myself than I ever have. You do what is right for you - he will have to acknowledge you were right soon enough! 17. Do you sleep with a CPAP? I had this problem and it turned out my CPAP was filling my pouch and intestines with air while I slept. It was ramping up to too high of an air flow for my breathing to compensate. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. Love this! I've been doing this, too - it is amazing what an eye-opener not being able to eat is! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. I have found it interesting, as well, how much my social and even family life surrounded food. I've been going with family when they eat out and I survive by focusing on the conversation and also I people watch and see how much our culture has come to depend on food for entertainment. Try taking your drinks or whatever diet you are on with you so you can be having what you are supposed to have. Keep your eye on the end result - it will all be worth it! 20. Mine was clear liquids first week, full liquids 2nd week, now I'm on soft foods for the 3rd week. Next week I get to continue soft and add things like chicken salad and tuna salad. After that, I'm trusted with slowly introducing whatever else into my diet. Nothing is off limits from my surgeon, just avoid lots of sugars, which is easy because now that my body has cleansed, sugar gives me a hangover. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. I'm entering into soft foods (hallelujah! Never thought scrambled egg could taste so good!). Anyway, I'm trying to follow doctor's orders and take 20-30 minutes to eat, but by the time the tiny portion has been sitting there for 10 minutes, it is cold. Anyone have suggestions other than cottage cheese or egg salad for soft foods that are already cold? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. Family, two ladies in a covenant group at church, and the women I share an office with know. I wanted to be sure the people I have around me all the time knew so they would hold me accountable and also not try to get me to eat all the office sweets Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app
  23. Warm helped me with a lot of my liquids this week. (Surgery 12/18) Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. I also found that if I make sure I'm sitting up straight when I swallow, the discomfort goes away. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app
  25. My doc said she won't tell me to never eat anything. She wants me to learn on my own what my body can tolerate and what it can't. She also said she feels like if she forbid me to eat something, the temptation would be awful and the guilt terrible if I gave it. She said each meal is a new chance and I should never think too poorly of myself if I slip once in awhile. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app

  28. Day 4 and I'm starting to feel human again. Just need to get some protein. I have never liked sweet drinks, but it seems like that is all the protein drinks I can have. I'm going to add protein to broth and see if that works. Any other ideas? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app
  29. Had my sleeve 12/18 and have sometimes found myself lamenting about all the Christmas I don't get to partake in. Hubby made me some decaf peppermint tea and it is soothing and makes me feel a little Christmas cheer. Just thought I'd pass that along to my fellow December sleevers who can tolerate warm fluids. 30. I was about to post the same from the clear liquid diet. I never liked sweet drinks and all of the clear protein drinks are sweet! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app
