Foamies suck!

Recommended Posts

I almost feel like I should just give up on any type of non-liquid food. UGH!

I was really good this morning, just yogurt then went to the gym. So, when I got home I thought I could have a treat and make a Protein cake in a mug. Recipe didn't turn out well; it was very dense, but I had about 3 bites because I'm too cheap to throw it away. My stomach is totally rejecting it and I've had foamies for over an hour! This is still happening to me 4 or 5 times a week. I am SO OVER IT!

At least I'm not at work today, small favors ;)

That's been happening to me semi-often as well. Last week I tried a BBQ hamburger for the first time, not sure if it was the dryness of the burger (my dad sucks at BBQing) or the acidity of the ketchup... today it actually happened very mildly after taking my Vitamins. I take Centrum Orange Burst chewables and sometimes I feel they make me a little nauseous, the taste is horrible; havent taken them in a few days and today I took them and 5 minutes later was running to the bathroom. I definitely need new vits, problem is all of the good bariatric recommended ones are expensive.

Luckily, my stomach doesn't mind Flintstones. But I'm hoping at my 3-month checkup the doctor will let me switch to regular pills.

Dang guys. I'm so sorry for your struggles.

Do NOT give up. You HAVE to keep trying. Just try slowly.

Foamies DO suck though. Fo' shizzle! :(

I use the Celebrate chewables. I bought a huge jug of them so I'd get the cheapest I could. I chew one after Breakfast and one after lunch. If I take them before a meal I get nauseated.

@Orchids&Dragons Next time if your cake is dry, make a "parfait" with Greek yogurt sweetened with vanilla stevia. crumble it up into it and have mixed a little bit with the yogurt so it will act as lube. :) It might last you 3 servings, but it will still be easier on your tummy.

Sometimes warm liquid helps. I drink a lot of hot tea. Usually makes me feel better. Kind of flushes out the foamies.

Have you tried the chewable prenatal ones? My WLC approved a few different brands that were higher then I wanted to pay. I found the Walmart brand and took a picture of the label sent it to my NUT. She talked to my doctor and they approved them. They don’t taste bad. Good luck.

I was told not to drink anything when foamies started. But, I'll definitely give this a try. Thanks!

Really? No ones ever told me that. I just take small baby sips.

Also, someone told me that "enzymes" help. They keep some kind of papaya blend enzymes and pop one when they get the foamies or something stuck. It supposedly helps digest the stuff in the tummy and break it down so it passes? But I don't know what to get, how much to take, whether or not it really works or anything. LOL!

Our nurse is fond of saying 'dry is deadly'. So true for me! For me, taking a sip makes it worse and I hurl. Luckily it's only happened 2 to 3 times. I've had to tell myself it's OK to skip it or pitch it if it's dry. No guilt!

My surgeon suggests against flintstones, he and his staff feel there isn't enough nutritional value in it. I'm half tempted to just go to the vitafusion gummies that I used to take pre-surgery.

It's amazing how different they all are.

Absolutely... when I told my surgeon the week before surgery that I joined this site, he was a bit hesitant and warned me that he's a bit conservative with his post-op instructions and that I should limit the advise that I take online because what somebody else's surgeon might have given them instructions that widely vary from his.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
