May 10 surgery booked

Recommended Posts

Anyone having surgery May10? I am very nervous and have read so many posts on here. Just looking for any tips for right after surgery. I am scared that I will be hungry but unable to eat. I currently never feel full. Does anyone have experience of this feeling? Did anyone have complications right after surgery that’s another fear of mine. Thanks in advance

I haven’t had surgery yet but my friend had got her sleeve done last year. Every experience is different. Some feel fine, some are miserable. My friend wasn’t hungry the first week then started having head hunger for a while (but not long). She’s doing great now 8 months out. Don’t overthink it, best wishes on your surgery.

PS, your surgery is on my birthday [emoji846]

I’m May 10th as well. Little nervous but I’m just trying to focus on baby steps. First step is the liquid diet starting tomorrow. I’m going to start back reading and other activities to keep my mind off of the hunger.

I also have my surgery on May 10th. I am pretty busy at the moment, but in a calm moment I get afraid too. I don't have do go on a liquid diet before, but started to include some new habits already. I am counting my calories, increasing my Water intake and trying to eat about 90 grams of Protein. Just started two days ago, so I don't feel too bad yet.

What have you planned for your post-op liquid diet? Any recommendations?

Haven’t even started to plan for that yet. I will start next week. I am hoping the dietician I’m working with will give me some great tips.

My surgery was 4/12. I haven't experienced any vomiting or nausea. I am tolerating all foods (that I have tried) well. I started my soft diet today. I am not hungry and just eat when it is time to eat.

I haven't had a lot of pain and what I have had has been around the incision sites. I haven't taken any pain medication.

The liquid diet was hard. Best Wishes to you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
