PJTP...Good morning Everyone!

Edit: Happy Birthday Beth! Hope you have an awesome day...:wub::)

ROFLMBO at all the posts I've missed...y'all are just wonderful for the spirits - or it is because of the spirits?

Promised I would post pics of myself when I hit the 50% mark in my journey, so here they are...be nice! :)

The first pic is from Summer 2008 - before I was banded. Actually, it's before I had even made my first appointment...my how time flies!

The other two in the "scuba" dress - called that for obvious reasons - are from this morning. In fact, I liked the dress so much after I put it on for the pics that I wore it to work. Different shoes though - the black-and-white slingbacks are a little big since I lost the weight. They are only good if I don't have to walk very far in them...

I'm happy with my progress so far, but I still know I've got a ways to go...

Okay ya'll...I feel like shit.

A few weeks ago, a coworker grabbed me from behind and grabbed my fat, which was the THIRD TIME I've told her not to touch me. I don't like being touched.

So, I snapped and went to her boss about it. I laid out all the stuff that I am tired of, and instead of talking with her he pulled in HR.

HR told her that she needed to get therapy (she also talks about how her father died when she was little and she'll cry about it - a lot.)

The boss told her, "the only reason you have a job right now is because you work hard."

So, I feel sooo horrible. I really thought he'd just be a second voice, telling her not to touch me. But, he pulled in HR.

Trouble is, she means well and is very sweet - and she is a hard worker. Compare that to the other lady, who just strolled in at 9:40 today, a few mins ago, and put her purse down and walked over to a friend's cubby - still isn't back yet.

I just feel bad. If anyone should "get in trouble" it should be the other chick. But, I've posted before - the boss gets a hard on for that one, so HR will never be brought in for her.

I feel like going to the HR lady and telling her all this, but the touchy chick asked me not to. I told her I'll never go to her boss again, and if I have a problem I'll just tell her to back off - and she agreed to actually back off. She apologized to me for touching me, and said I did the right thing. And, yeah, on paper I did - I escalated the issue because talking to her wasn't working. However, in my head, I knew that he's lacking balls.

Oh, Glouc, I'm sorry -- for the touchy-feely girl and the escalation. I really hate when we try to do something minor and it turns into something more major. I'm glad (and surprised) the coworker seems to be taking it well, though. I hope it irons itself out.

PJTP...Oh Glouc!

I wouldn't like that either...but I'd probably swing first and talk later...

So, I snapped and went to her boss about it. I laid out all the stuff that I am tired of, and instead of talking with her he pulled in HR.

Okay - that she needs help seems to be obvious, but I agree with you that the boss overreacted...what is it with 'bosses' overreacting these days?

The boss told her, "the only reason you have a job right now is because you work hard."

So, I feel sooo horrible. I really thought he'd just be a second voice, telling her not to touch me. But, he pulled in HR.

Oh boy - well, you couldn't have foreseen that! I don't think you did the wrong thing, I think the boss overreacted, quite frankly...

Trouble is, she means well and is very sweet - and she is a hard worker. Compare that to the other lady, who just strolled in at 9:40 today, a few mins ago, and put her purse down and walked over to a friend's cubby - still isn't back yet.

It's just a shame when that kind of favoritism goes on and that its soo obvious! :)

I feel like going to the HR lady and telling her all this, but the touchy chick asked me not to. You did nothing wrong, Glouc - THEY handled it badly. At least your co-worker seems to understand she crossed the line one time too many. Hope it never happens again, but if it does, it's on HER, not on YOU.

People really outa keep their hands to themselves in the workplace...in some offices, that would have turned into a lawsuit and cost the company LOTS to defend it.

You did nothing wrong - I hope the co-worker gets the help she needs...she obviously has a problem with 'personal space'...

Funny you say that about lawsuit...she contacted her family lawyer (who has one of those just on the side, anyway?) and she said it was because of ME. That she was CYA'ing for anything against her from me. I said, Oh no...I am not a lawsuit kinda gal. I feel like I was straightforward and she didn't listen, and then my next course was to take it to him.

But, I do feel bad. Next time I will handle it myself. I need to learn not to let that kind of thing effect me. I'd feel bad if she got the boot and the other chick still sat there giggling on the phone and getting away with murder.

Head's need to keep low these days!

can't you get the touchy chick to mess w/the late comer???

Ha! Touchy chick is scared of the late comer. Late comer is a more "Mother f'er get the f out of my face and give me your f'ing pencil" kinda gal.

Touchy is more, "Um, excuse me...Um, can I borrow this pencil, please, um? maybe? It's okay if the answer's no."

The M'fer is really a cool chick to talk to about stuff - outside of work, and Touchy is a great worker, just an annoying one.

But, I hate the unfairness of it, more than I hate the annoyance of her.

Like, right now, I'm about to tackle the stack of papers she has had since, I dunno - April!!! They are in two stacks, from the floor to her desk. I've been asked to help since she's so far behind.

I really, really don't mind working - but I hate doing other people's jobs when they don't make an effort to do it themselves.

If I did this right...here's stack one. I took this while she's on the phone giggling at something.

I am not getting them - she will have to bring them to me. While she was on maternity leave, I had her desk spotless and kept up w/all of it. She was back in April and this is the pile that accumulated.

Actually, she just left for lunch and I'm thinking of grabbing it.

I am caught up on my stuff...shocker...and have nothing to do.

And, PJTP is slooow!

M'fer is a friend on FB, so I can't play too much there! She's a really awesome person, just can't work for sh!t.

Glouc, sorry you're having work problems. If you don't like being touched, maybe you could wrap yourself in invisible dog fencing and then when someone invades your space...ZAPPO. But you will have to get this gal to wear the dog collar...could be tricky.

I hope things work out for you. I'm so happy that I work for myself...no co-workers stealing my lunch, borrowing my pencil. It's just so darned hard to surprise myself on Boss's Day.

Beth, Happy Birthday!!

Hmm...I like that thought though. She's touchy, so I could just slip it over her when she comes close!

I want to work for myself, but I'd fire me for slacking off on LBT and FB all day.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
