Knowing was good - very good special effects. I was hiding my eyes more than Beth. She is apparently fearless with the scary parts. She told me she likes the Saw movies! No way would I watch that stuff!!

Was it good? creepy good or drama good?

I thought it was pretty darn good... then it got weird. But that was only the last 15 minutes or so. Overall I'd recommend it as a cool thriller.

Typically we have glazed ham, but perhaps turkey is the choice this year? As for dessert, I am thinking of a lemon chiffon cheesecake, and (because the nephews are chocaholics) some kind of chocolate concoction - but I don't know what. ideas anyone.QUOTE]

My favorite chocolate is a cake my grandmother makes with cinnamon in both the homemade cake and the homemade icing. It's easy enough that even i can make it so it may not be high enough quality for the Queen Tippity Baker!!! (cuz you sho like to cook more than I do!)

Way to go girl!!!

Why thankee!!!!! Now the deal is for me to quit thinking about it/him!

Well, no big plans here. Actually, who am I kidding, I am very excited because I get to move from Clear Liquids to full liquids on Sunday!! _excited__rvmp_by_bad_blood.gif I have been scouring the food forum here for full liquids recipes. I found one for a cheesecake Protein Shake that I am pretty darn excited about.

God love ya - I know you wanna eat your shoe by now!

Remember awhile back I was complaining about working with a girl on drugs? Now she is in jail. She came up with a dirty UA. My boss, the attorney says she will stick by her. She feels like Christey needs her. I just don't get it. You would think an attorney would not want someone with a felony on their record as an employee.

How lovely. Tons of people without jobs and they settle for the druggie. Sigh.

while documenting may not "save" your job - it's great to have while negotiating your severance/mutual separation package. it also can halt the progression of the "manager in charge" future climb up the company ladder - if not result in some sort of demotion.

Nice...

a good positive attitude just sticks in the craw of the ones trying to bring you down......if you can stomach it on certain days it's worthwhile,

and nice! Congenial but distant!

4 - tequila is really nice soometimes.

I am so not a drinker most of the time but I had soooo many margaritas at convention and one tonight. Lulu - I neither gained nor lost while in Orlando, btw.

All right ya'll...I'm heading to bed. I don't flash folks like SOME people here do. (I won't point out names, Donna) but I do get a little frisky! :)QUOTE]

:):lol::) Funny!!

My leaving was a total set-up; there's no doubt in my mind about that one.

I had a situation like that once. It was pretty screwy but I got a good severance package out of it.

Am I crazy? I got an email saying someone was posting to test tickers and such...where did that post go?

She deleted it. But I can still see it. Nyah. Nyah. :)

Heartfire - do they have you on meds for the Migraines? My GP prescribed Treximet but I haven't taken any yet.[/b]

Yep, Maxalt. Works good but they make me sleepy. For awhile they'd get so bad, I'd have to leave work. Luckily my office was only 5 minutes from my house but there were times when I should've asked my boss to drive me. He gets 'em too so totally understands. One time, I don't remember the drive home and I was so glad to be in my driveway that I almost forgot to stop my truck before hitting the garage door! That would've been a bad oops!

Another time I was so bad I had to try to count the hours between doses and had to read the paperwork to find out if I was about to overdose on the stuff! Missed almost a whole week of work!

Luckily I'm under better control now.

If you need 'em, use 'em! Don't wait too long or you have to take more meds. If you feel it coming on, start the meds!

Prayers for your Dad AND your Mom!

Nephew Update: The little guy is still in NICU. They took out his feeding tube for awhile but it has been put back in. He is not suckling hardly at all. His problems are caused by my sisters gestational diabetes. All of the tests have been negative. He is still under the lights for jaundice. His level was 18 and has only gone down to 17.5 so far. They sent in a speech pathologist to look at him, I guess she will help teach him how to suckle?? I dont really know. They have switched him to soy formula as he was vomitting up all the regular variety. He now has a bleeding butt from diaper rash. My sister is just beside herself! I think he will be fine eventually - he just needs some support in the hospital for awhile longer. Thank you everyone for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers! I hope to be ablet to get back to Colorado to meet him soon!

Still praying!

Well, no big plans here. Actually, who am I kidding, I am very excited because I get to move from clear liquids to full liquids on Sunday!!

Whoo Hoo!! Have fun deciding what to drink first and ENJOY!!

I'm doing okay...

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this. Hang in there.

The nurse began whispering with the receptionist, and then she called me over and said that they wouldn't charge me for my fill this time, and they will work with me on my future ones. I started bawling. It was very nice of them to do.

THAT was so COOL!!!!! What a great office! I hope it ends up working out for you in the long-term.

Oh THAT sucks!!

EASTER: It's just the 3 of us this year. The IL's are sick and since Teagan and I just got WELL we are NOT visiting the family this year! We usually do a ham so instead, we bought some ham steaks and we'll have mashed potatoes and sugar snap peas from the farm. Yummmm! We'll go to the early service like usual, then stay for Breakfast and the kids' activities then head home. Normally we go to the later service on regular Sundays.

PJTP: Got another fill today. I sure hope this one works. He gave me .5cc. I got .25cc only 2 weeks ago! Was only able to eat half of what I normally eat for my Soup tonight so that's a positive sign! We'll see what happens in the next few days. I've been stuck in the mid 180's for WAY too long! I would like to see the 170's soon! Tho I haven't been this low since I started gaining 20+ years ago!

I gotta go to bed. I'm tired! Have a great night all!

Wow, I missed one day and came back to six pages! You all have been busy.

Hi everyone. I cannot even begin to respond to all that I read without coffee. I can only promise that I read it all (including glouc's drunk typing). I have to get my coffee since I seem to be the only person working today.

Mornin' all...

Whoo hoo - a non-work day, and the sun is supposed to shine AND the temp above freezing...happy days are here ! So, once the sun is up, I may get to go into the garden, and do some raking - although I suspect the ground will still be frozen, but still outside playing in the dirt!!:):w00t: Until then I will post here, do some inside housework, maybe watch a movie...

Beth - congrats on the NSV

Heartfire - I love sugar snap peas; wish I could get some fresh ones here, but that's months away yet.

Lulu - pear martini? Time to fess up - I've never had a martini in my life, and since being banded I have consumed MAYBE 6 glasses of wine (my choice of alcohol) in total - that's over 14 months.

CC and Beth - Will check out 'Knowing' - you're the first people I 'know' who have seen it.

Sick - I'm not a cooking snob - pm the recipe to me.

Ohh Tap I am so jealous of your nonworking day. But at least I only have a half day today. I have to go pick up the kiddies and take them to the big marshmallow drop today. Nothing quite like watching a blizzard of 20,000 marshamallows being dropped from a helicoptor.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
