SNT - Glad to hear things went well and you are up and moving without shoulder pain.

Fanny - Yahoo and woot woot!!

Saturday late morning - have done my Y time for the day; on my second pot of coffee while I plan what to do today...it isn't outside work though; there was frost last night, and it is a little chilly to be outside. Perhaps this afternoon it will warm up.

Welcome to bandland, SNT! I never got the shoulder pain either. Maybe just a tiny bit, but nothing really bad. I was off pain meds altogether by day 3.

Posting to say, it really sucks to not have restriction even after a fill. I had good restriction until about a month ago, saw my doctor last week, had a fill last Monday. Still no restriction. He does all fills under fluoro so he saw restriction and said I was "slow to empty." Other than the first day, I haven't noticed a difference. I'm so freaking frustrated because I've been plateau'ed ever since I lost restriction. I'm calling Monday, but not sure what he'll say.

I thought that we had banished Kimkins fo-evah!!! Thanks for all the well wishes. I was kind of worried about the pain but I'm feeling surprisingly well considering. Whew!

Kimkins must have put a new ad in the pile. Losers. (And not in a good way.)

It sunday morning and I'm off to work at my 2nd job. So not in the mood to be happy and chirpy to customers today. Wish I would just crawl back into bed and under the covers.....

when I had that test, I was not allowed to exercise for 48 hours before the test. I had to get right out of bed with nothing to eat or drink and go straight to the clinic. It showed I burn 1200 calories just sitting and breathing. The doctor never said anything about it being able to tell how many calories I had been eating.

Congratulations SickNTired. I never got the shoulder pain right after surgery. I got it later on down the road, off and on. At first I thought it was bursitis or something. Then I started reading posts about people having left shoulder pain after a fill, or if they ate too much etc. It finally did go away.

Congratuations Froggie! I am happy for you. Now you can stop worrying. Do you have your surgery date yet?

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
