Good morning everyone else, even those who don't love me anymore. :P

Aw, don't say that.

Look, I may not like the outcome (though not just from one side, to be fair), but I know the job is overpaid and underworked -- er... :frown:

J/K... I know how thankless it is.

Now, good morning all! Im late signing on, but my mother is visiting with us for a few weeks, and between being up at all hours helping her to the bathroom, and stuff, and getting her set for the day as both DH and I are out, this really is my first break. I have such a great respect for those who deal with the elderly leaving them their dignity and treating them with compassion. I love my mother, but I find this personal care very difficult and difficult for her to accept from her daughter. Dh is a real support too, but she doesn't like him to see her after her 'accidents' etc, so it's up to me to get her into the tub etc. And my house is not designed with the amenities she really needs....but I digress.

Now, if I could just get back into the groove on other 'band' things...portion control, exercise....

What an awesome daughter you are.:frown:

We are turning into a society of 'mama's boys' in which everything is done for us, we have no responsibility for anything, and nothing is our fault. Ever.

Well, it's a bit confusing. It's never our fault unless it's somebody else's fault, and then, because it's not THEIR fault, it becomes OUR fault. Hence the deal where it's now the teachers' faults for the kids not doing well. Got it?

Now, if I could just get back into the groove on other 'band' things...portion control, exercise....

Have you tried the pouch test? I'm still on it until tomorrow, but it seems to really be helping, AND I've lost weight -- though I don't know how much cuz I was too scared (okay, of fellow bandsters who told me not to weigh, lol) to get on the scale when I started. I'm down another 1/2 pound this morning, bringing me to a new low.

Well, actually that skit with Plain brought me to a new low, but you know what I mean. :frown:

Oh...and to those that pm'd and emailed me during my absence, THANKS! Sincerely, you will never know what those words meant to me - a lifeline if you will. There are some wonderfully warm-hearted good-souled beautiful people on LBT. I hope you all appreciate how rare it is to find one such person in a lifetime, and here there are several.

An emotional heart-felt Thank you.

I would have, but I didn't think you were coming here. :frown:

PJTP-I am going to try to pull a KC today. I have been up all night, but I am going to try to stay up all day. I have already put dinner in a crock pot so that I don't have to worry about burning my house down. I go back to my regular shift tomorrow. If I take a nap now, I won't sleep tonight. Last night was mentally draining. I am telling you this so that if I start typing gibberish (more so than normal), you all will know it is from lack of sleep adding to my normal stupidity.

Slim honey - I've had years of practice and induction into the mental instability that allows me to function in a sleep free zone - my prayers for you!

Perhaps after mymother goes home. I just cannot introduce a food regime while dealing with my mother.

Kharma... is a serious bitch

Any story here to share? (MY grammar is terrible, but you know what I mean.)

Kinda like KC.... She does sleep - about 4 hours a day! Half my normal sleep requirement.

What's in the crock pot? I'm planning a pork roast to be put in tomorrow morning, ready when we get home!

I am making a tweaked jambalaya recipe (I've added kidney and black Beans instead of rice).

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
