I think drunk posting is funny. KC - that was a great read, thank you.

How did the txt flirting go?

My friend and I have a saying when we get drunk - "my nose is snumb."

The first time she got drunk, she said that ALL FREAKING NIGHT. "Hey, guess what...? My nose is snumb!" And she'd flick her nose, kinda tilt to one side with that look on her face like it's the most awesome thing in the world.

LOL

Happy Monday all!

:biggrin::lol::biggrin: My nose is snumb!

Well glad I could entertain. Think the severe lack of sleep played a major role. Feel great today though.

Ok so text flirting was funny - when he was out here we already made plans to meet up when I go to hawaii in february (he's taking a travel assignment there for 6-9 months) and my family goes every february. Apparently now we are going out drinking one night to get drunk together - not really a stretch but could be fun.

Fanny - I am a pretzel!

l!

i thought & typed the same thing - but LBT ate my post, so i'm doing a readers digest version.

*love blueberries - eat them almost daily while in season

*kat, there is one in every family like SIL - my SIL never wants to do stuff so stays at home by herself, which is FINE w/my mom!!

*congrats fanny!

*big day ebony!

*tap hope your funk is gone

i typed more but i can't remember S*&T right now. waiting on a new handyman, DH has a list 3 pages long & i hope i don't run him off.

he lost his corp job a yr ago & went back into handy work when he couldn't fine anything......took over his dad's business.

he sounds eager to work, apparently he use to ride horses/dirt bikes in our back property as a kid - anything is better than the unreliable guy i had be using. he called me this am and said i owed him $928. i asked for WHAT? he said for materials - had to let him know that i GAVE him the money for materials & to lay off the pipe....idiot.

happy monday!

I am glad that you had fun, but you are so going to regret drunk posting.

The nice thing about drunk posting is that, for every one person who will eventually regret it, there are about a dozen of us who are SO thankful for them.:lol::cool:

On another note, GOOD LUCK, EBONY!!!!!

PJTP...Hi Everyone!

Interview is today at 4:30 EST - many thanks for the prayers and good wishes recieved so far...I'll mos def check in and let y'all know how it went.

Work has been slow and quiet - moving files around and preparing for the next season. Said goodbye to a long-term employee on Friday - she retired - and found out they are not going to replace her right away, so guess what? All of the other C&T's (Clerical & Technical) get to handle the phones and email that she used to do...

Leaving early to go to my interview around 3 pm - wanted to make sure I wouldn't be late!

Wogging program is going well - ran further today than any other day with DH and DDog - now we are only walking about 20% of the 1-mile route we usually walk. Once we get to the place where we're jogging the whole thing, we'll stretch out the distance and work up to 3 - 5 miles. I'm already looking for a race to run in late September or early October. May even do a November race - depends on weather...

Having a wonderful day so far, but lunch is going down verrrryyyy slowly - baked chicken, stuffing and green Beans. I seem to be tight...but then I think my TOM is coming...yuk!

Oh well - will check in after my interview. I  all of y'all!

I got a new iPhone!

And a hot pink case for it.

Oh, hot pink! Love it. I am out of my contract next summer, and we also will have AT&T starting in Jan, I, want an iPhone. I love my Blackberry but I hear the iPhone is way better!

Sorry, hubby and I were over getting one of the gay neighbors drunk on our leftover mojitos. They, in turn, fixed us pork loin, corn on the cob, green onions (all done on the grill) and some fantastic potatoes. YUM!

Yummy!

Well it ended up being a nice dinner. The DD with the wierdo for a DH was our only one not to show up. He dislikes us all, so it is not a surprise.

Sorry she couldn't come over, that is probably just as hard on her as it is the two of you.

Other than that we had a great time. Missed my little granddaughter being there, she was with her Daddy for the weekend, and he refused to let her come home an hour and a half early. Another winner there!!

Yep took my handyman to Home Depot and spent more $$$ but the addition is coming along nicely, and should be finished before too long. And to top it off here in a minute I am taking my handyman to bed!!! LOL

Spend money and then off to bed - hmm, I might have to try that!

We are both taking off Friday for the birth of our newest grandson. Providing she does not go into labor before then, they have her scheduled for c section at 7AM on Friday!!! YAY!!! My little Garrick will be here!

How exciting! I love babies!

I AM WORST godmom ever - took cakes and gift to her - opened and played for bit then her mom and i went drinkin and i am drunker than i have ever been in life.

O me gosh - i can't feel lips, stumbled out ofbar - never stunmbled before. i had 3 large mojitos at first restaurant then went to other bar and had 6 double tall malibu and diets - actualy only 4 - (drank em out of malibu and had to swith to parrot bay)

We were playing the video games at bar - LOL - I was shouting - told you so very competitive!

I have now been up for 32 and 1/2 hours hourrs - Help me! and dammit never watched my movie.

Have been flirting with yong hot friend boy toy on phone (texting) - the one who was in town.btwy - we're meeting in hawaii in february - got to lose me some more weight!

Drunk posting - nice! You are too funny! Glad you posted the "cure" for hangovers!

PJTP:

I love stories about STUPID!!

TPG

I can't believe they would think of charging him for cutting the watermelon - that is ridiculous! People are stupid!!!

How was the movie? DH really liked it. He and the boys watched it at work.

If you get a chance you should watch Gran Torino - it is a great movie!

Thanks for the joo joo, all! The offer came in at $368,000, which is only $500 below the previous offer, and they are not Keystart applicants (earn too much money to qualify for the 1st Homeowner grant) so I've accepted of course! Financial approval is due in only 3 weeks instead of the usual 6. If that comes through, settlement would be on 18th September, so 6 days before my birthday - how cool! *crosses fingers, toes, legs, arms, eyes, anything crossable at all*

Yeah!

The nice thing about drunk posting is that, for every one person who will eventually regret it, there are about a dozen of us who are SO thankful for them.:lol::wub:

On another note, GOOD LUCK, EBONY!!!!!

What she said!

We had a heck of a storm last night and they are supposed to continue through the rest of the week! It was one of the most amazing lightening storms I have ever seen! Of course we had high winds and then got another torrential (sp) rain, but I don't have to Water today, so that is nice. Doesn't look like it started any fires - which is a good thing!

DH has the day off, so we are heading out to one of the parks for a hike later this afternoon - no running, just hiking. I am also going to go dorm shopping with DD, if she gets her lazy fanny out of bed!

Hope you all have a great day!

Starting to line up contractors. If any of them look like KC's guys, I'm just gonna start breaking sh*t around here.

*note to self: go to Home Depot and buy a sledge hammer.

PJTP...

Couldn't resist...like Kat, I often take MY handyman to Home Depot to get supplies, watch him as he flexes those huge muscles doing exactly what I tell him to do, and then take him to the shower and to bed...again, doing exactly what I tell him to do...

Gotta love it that my DH is handy around the house...though he describes himself as a "rough carpenter"...roughneck, maybe...his "carpentry" has been getting better and better over the years because I encourage him to do things he's never tried before

Ebony ducks and runs...

Then you went and burst my bubble.

Ebony-knock 'em dead!

Ok KC, I see that you are up. Do you have an Energizer battery pack keeping you going? I am tired just knowing how many hours you haven't slept.

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
