I hate it when people post just to post.....

I would never write it either. Of course, if I got into a heated discussion with someone and name calling ensued, then there's no subject too taboo. As LuLu can attest being a fellow shorty, we're fiesty as hell and quicker on our feet than those big, lumbering giants.

Hehe, ankle biters! :tt2:

Ok, I am just glad to know that I wasn't the only one having trouble getting on here yesterday. I thought maybe my internet service was being screwy.

I have to say that I am a fellow ankle biter. I have no problems going toe-to-toe with my 6ft 4in husband, but typing it just isn't the same.

Btw, what constitutes "short"? I'm short in my family at 5'7".

i'm 5'1 on my toes - mom is 4'11.

dad is 6'1 - i didn't get that feature from the gene pool.

You want ankle biters? You want short? I am probably shorter than any one on here...4'10 & 1/2. The 1/2 makes a lot of difference! I am patiently waiting to be able to wear platforms and heels again. That way I will be 2-4 inches taller. When I was a teen I could run faster in platforms than in tennis shoes.12_3_132.gif

Your parents sound like mine Lulu. Mom was 4'10 and dad was 6'. I took after mom. When my kids blame me for their height I tell them to blame grandma. But my grandfather on dad's side was only 5'5 and grandma was 5'7. So I really got it from both sides.

I claim 5'2" but in reality I fall just short of 5'1". I usually wear 2-3 inch heels though so I can pass for 5'3" most of the time. :sneaky:

My DH is 6'2". Do you think it's something about short women that makes them attracted to tall men or do you think tall men are attracted to short women? The shortest guy I ever dated was 5'10" and I thought he was too short.

i prefer taller men - not sure i've dated anyone under 6' - DH i know prefers petite women.

Like Donna, I claim 5ft 2, but I am really about 5ft 1.5 (according to the doctor when trying to determine my BMI). My mom is about 4ft 10. My dad was about 5ft 7. I am sure you can see where I am going with this. I am praying that my son takes after his dad.

Wow, then I guess I am somewhat tall.

Too tall to be short, and too short to be a supermodel. So what's a girl to do? :sneaky:

I was always teased for my lack of height in my family (my sister especially who is 5'11"), but if you put me in a room full of 100 average women, I'd be taller than probably half of them.

My daughter grew to be about 5'10". Tall and coltish. Wish I could say she got that from me... :mad2:

PJTP...I'm the tallest woman in my family at 5' 10". My darling mother was only 5'4" tall, my DD is a little taller than I, my DH is 6' 3" tall, and my sons are both 6' 4" (go figure).

My height came from my paternal grandmother - I have a photo of her, and we are twins in body size from the neck down...funny how that happened.

Glad my children are tall, but I keep hearing my mother's voice saying "I'm not going to be the shortest one in the house" :mad2:

She was...and now I am! :sneaky:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
