PJTP- My ex husband is an ass. He wrote me an email today to let me know that he has decided to prorate his child support. Now I have to get my lawyer and have a nice big fight. What an ass. Why can't he just obey the child support order??? aaarrrrrrgggggg

Wait -- prorate it WHY? If you have an order, he can't change it. Also, if you have an order, if you haven't already, get it registered HERE. Then anything he wants to do with it he has to come here. :(

PM or call me if you prefer, though remember TBL is on tonight! YAY!

If you already have an order in place, and you have to hire an attorney to deal with his idiocy over this, do not forget to ask for attorney and all related legal fees when you answer it!

We hold a lien on DH's ex's house because she refused to pay our legal fees over an issue. I love the comfort of having that!!!

Lulu hope all is well!

Plain, if Ambien is the weakest sleep medication, what is the medication of choice by the MD for people who have chronic insomnia?

Ambien / Lunesta is the most-oft prescribed drug in my circle (among board-registered sleep docs). Weak doesn't = inferior. A lot of family practice or general practice docs prescribe antidepressant meds, anti-anxiety meds, antipsychotics, benzos, and / or antihistimines for sleep (those are all used off-label for sleep).

HE decided HE was going to prorate his child support obligations? Don't insult an ass by comparing it to your ex.
wtf? HE has that authority? i thought courts decided that not people who dont wanna pay the ordered amount...? :(

Yes, he is ordered to pay me a certain amount on the 1st of each month. Feb. will be the last month he has to pay as my youngest will reach 19. He thinks that since her birthday is on the 8th of Feb he only has to pay for 8 days of support. I called my attorney and she said it is absurd.

Here is a breakdown of the emails

Ex- I just wanted to let you know that the final child support payment will be coming by check instead of automatic deposit. It should get there by the 1st no problem, but I thought you would appreciate the heads up.

Also want to make sure that you are tracking that it will be less since Chelsea turns 19 on the 8th of the month.

ME - Please direct me to the child support statute that allows you to prorate child support. I cannot find where your authority lies. Our order says you pay a monthly amount with no mention of prorating anything. Thanks.

Ex - So let me ask you, honestly, if you were the one paying would you be saying the same thing? I really don't understand you sometimes.

UNBELIEVABLE!! He thinks that I do not pay to support the children! He sees them 2 weeks per year - that is all. No weekends - holidays very very few and far between. He has them for two weeks and that is it. No homework help - no dr.s appoitments, no phone calls - nothing!! Nothing for 9 years!!!

thank you for letting me vent.

Becaus I work in the system, let me give you a heads up. He canNOT prorate the child support. Also, does your order exclusively terminate when she turns 18, or does it include further payments if she goes to school? Granted, I know she's not going full time, but just wondered.

The other thing is, if you file a rule to show cause on him for non-payment, it can screw him up since he is military. I would tell him to put on his big girl panties and pay the additional three weeks.

Fanny - so exciting! I'm gonna be the downer and say just be careful with your finances but enjoy that cutie patootie!!!

And I broke not one, but 2 computers at work today and the "help"desk was useless in assisting me to fixing them.

Here's to hoping the rest of this week is better than the last week has been....!

M'dear, She - what in the world have you been doing to those poor computers?!?

In addition to the too tight band, I fricken rear-ended a car Monday on my way to work! :( It was nothing in the whole sense of things but it pissed me off nonetheless. I'm ready for February!

But did any of you hear about the woman who gave birth yesterday (Mon) to 8, yes 8 babies!!? She is out near LA.

I heard about her this morning! I cannot imagine! They don't want their names released. They thought she was carrying 7 and there was an extra surprise. Gah! 6 boys, 2 girls

i think you should have eaten more though ... after all, i did and im fine!! God made sure of it....

I ate 3 XL pizzas after my unfill Friday. Duh!

PJTP....Now we have a fat virus. If we sneeze or cough on some one they can become fat....Can we say lets OSTRISIZE fat people even more! I am sooo mad I could spit! On the Today show they had this woman dr. whom said 30% of fat people have this virus...70% of people are over wieght or obese. She said something about does it mean you will get it if coughed on. Yes and no......Now isn't this saying Stay Away From the FAT person?

Dangit y'all take out all the fun. I was hoping there'd be a pill for it!

Now, if you will all excuse me, I am off to find my dh's ex-wife who always refers to me as "the fat lady". Why, you ask? Because I feel a sneeze coming on!!

Hysterical!!! Go get her!

How is everyone? Me, well I have a Dr. Appt. on Thursday because I busted up my knee while jogging. It feels like its moving around in there and it hurts.

:glare:

Aww man, that sucks! I hope it's an easy fix.

Right? Methinks HE needs to have his ass kicked by the JUDGE!!! Has he lost his job or something?? Presuming not, I wish the judges would say, "yanno, I've already ruled on this. Just b/c you've pissed me off, you owe another 10%!!"

Our order is from Colorado and it is until she is 19 years old. My attorney says he has to pay the full amount of support each month she is 18 at the beginning of the month. There is no order for any college help at all since they do not do that in Colorado.

He is a pilot in the military. He makes well over 100k per year.

He is just cheap. He tries to get out of helping wherever he can and has done so since the divorce.

Ex - So let me ask you, honestly, if you were the one paying would you be saying the same thing?

Me- So let me ask you, honestly, do you love your daughter? Because you sound more like a person eagerly awaiting the day a burden is lifted from their shoulders than a father who wants to do the minimum required to help his daughter.

He is a pilot in the military. He makes well over 100k per year.

Wow, he sounds like a great guy. I'm sure the kids eagerly await the 2 weeks / year they can spend with a kind dude like that.

For Christmas, I think a good gift for him would be a fancy leather "bomber"-type jacket with "Captain Dildo" stitched on the back.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
