I feel you on this! 🤣 I'm good now but right after I felt so awful. I knew it was anesthesia. I'm good now.

Confession Time: I haven’t second guessed myself, still not doing so, but I have to confess that in the back of my mind I felt like I would get this surgery and still not be healthy. It was a very negative and very sad thought. I questioned how would this time be any different from the other times that I ate right, exercised like crazy, only to lose a little weight and gain back even more no matter how healthy my diet or exercise regimen. Still I was decided on doing this surgery, I have to try right. Well now I’ve been bit with the positivity bug from all of the well wishes and encouragement that all of you and even my whole medical team instills in me. It finally hit me today that this time, it actually will be different. How do I know? My determination to get healthier, my complete and utter commitment to this process, liquid diet and all. I just cannot fail. So to anyone who is second guessing or feeling like this isn’t going to work. Banish the thought. We’ve got this 😉
Thank you for this! I’m obviously pretty anxious about the surgery. It is a very big deal and a lot to put myself through. And a lot of uncertainty if the same bad habits that got me to nearly 400lbs won’t come back.

However, I try to remember why I am doing this. I am doing this so I improve my health and lower my risk for diabetes and other obesity related illnesses. I’m doing it, cause I’m dang tired of having to compensate or work around my weight/size. Simple tasks are sometimes not so simple when your body is just in the way. I’m tired of wondering if a chair is fat person friendly or if I will fit in spaces that are just not designed for someone my size.

Some of these have already improved with the 70lbs I have lost up to this point through exercise and diet. However, every workout felt like a losing battle and I’m ready to tip the dang odds in my favor for once!

I definitely understand all of the reasons why you are doing this. I have such a bad family history health wise that I’d like to stop before it can think about happening. And I get winded just walking across the room! So I get it. And I’m glad that what I said resonated with you. You’ve got this! 😉

It is the most amazing feeling to have a group of buddies supporting you. And those intrusive thoughts of failure are the absolute worse. We have no come this far to fail. We are taking back our lives!

My birthday is in August so I'm hoping to have it done before then (totally an arbitrary goal but it'll feel like a really weird birthday present to myself, lol).

My birthday is in August too and I’m also hoping the surgery will happen before then. Tomorrow is my 6th of 6 nutrition appointments and that’s the last requirement I have to complete. Then insurance approval and get a date. My surgeon’s office said it’s usually 4-6 weeks after you complete all of the requirements, so I’m hoping for early August.

Looking at you’re name I’m wondering if you are from Connecticut. If so, I can tell you that I got an approval quicker than that and so did another friend. Best wishes!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
